    The joke was my lack of commitment. I suspect many wives would not allow their husband to run off to an out of state dark beer fest one week after marriage. For that, I am lucky.

    That would be sweet. Yeah, some of the bands at Open Air Fest certainly could make the short trip to Munster. I'd be good with that. This will be my first DLD and I'm all in with hotel and all. Wife actually wanted to go to Open Air and I had to say no, sorry, that's DLD weekend. Life's tough sometimes.

    I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thoroughly enjoys waiting in "line" to get tickets, then waiting in line to get in, then waiting in line to get my beer, then waiting in line for pours. It's invigorating!

    Has FFF burned yet? Asking for a friend; the brewery must have awesome insurance, builders, fan following, etc to have had that many fires, yet can rebuild in time for DLD year after year....

    I would love to see them at DLD too. Just not sure if the promoters for Chicago Open Air would allow the Sunday bands to play somewhere so close on Saturday.

    If Dark Lord Day sells out before they announce the bands it may negate the radius clause since there's no way someone can go to DLD instead of Open Air. HOWEVER I don't think there's a possibility in a million years that any band that plays Open Air is playing DLD. I don't think there's as much cross over with the 3 Floyds sensibility as people think.

    In a million years, global warming will have turned the world into an ocean, and Kevin Kostner will be an undead pirate king. Every day will be dark lord day, and bands will play open air to audition to be part of dark lord day.

    This is simple statistics.

    Agreed. Most of the Open Air bands aren't really heavy enough to play DLD. That one year CoC playing DLD aside.

    I would also be happy to see a deathcore or slam band on the lineup. Anything more brutal than the typical shrieky black metal garbage would be fantastic.
