I've tried to google BYOB, particularly around SF since I live there, but Google doesn't really give much as most of the results pertain to wine, and aren't necessarily up to date.

I know as far as SF goes, some options I've seen are:

Golden Gate Park - Technically only booze in "non-glass containers" is allowed. But that doesn't necessarily stop people from bringing bottled beers more discreetly.

Pakwan - This trusty Pakistani restaurant serves good eats, and allows people to bring in beers to enjoy with no charge

Tadu - Similar for this Ethiopian restaurant

Where else do people do shares? Sometimes I just want to crack open some cellared stuff to share with a couple friends.

That's 2 more options than I knew about.

Well, we've had small shares at SOMA StrEat, street eats, whatever its called. Its a collection of food trucks thats in a perminate location. They sell booze there as well. It's been a few years, so I have no idea what the current climate is there.

No mas Beer Revolution shares? Sheesh. Next thing you're going to tell me is that Fraggle is gone.

In the South Bay, a lot of my BA buddies and I just take turns doing shares at our houses. We live pretty spread out so at least one person doesn’t have to worry about paying for an Uber. Plus a lot of us like to cook/try to plan out food pairings with the beers.

I’d love to do a share on Stanford campus sometime. Open container policy and tons of beautiful spots.

I'm aware of Pakwan as a byo spot, but aside from people's homes, the other shares I've been to has been in tech company cafeterias or conference rooms. Hehehe.

I also want in on this next share, put names to BA handles.

I’ve only been to a couple shares, but they were organized by the meetup group, Bay Area Beer Socials and were at The Willows.

I love the BABS crew but I thought The Willows charges an arm and a leg per beer in those shares? It's why I never went to one.

yo guys, i'm going to be in town on 02/12- 02/14 from Omaha, NE. If anyone wants to meet up and do a few bottles I can gladly bring some non CA distro beers to share. Down w Pakistani and Ethiopian food as well as park drinking (:sunglasses:). I've got a huge list of beer places to check out as well if that is more respectable. Cheers!

It’s a $5 flat fee! In my estimation, not bad

Btw, they’re typically first Sunday of every month starting at 6 pm. But I think they may be skipping this month due to SF beer week.

Nope, $5 flat fee ever since I’ve been going (since April 2018).
