Going on a work trip to Boston in March. Would any of you kind folks have a recommendation for a restaurant that has a decent bourbon and craft beer menu? I've searched through SOME of the eateries on Beer Advocate's "Places" list for Boston, but nothing seems to offer food, beer, and bourbon in one spot. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Stoddards in Downtown Crossing has above average options for everything you are looking for.

For beer and bourbon in the same spot, TipTap Room comes to mind. Haven't eaten there, though so can't speak to the food.

Or, it's not one spot but, The Smoke Shop in Kendall Sq. has a great bourbon selection and the place is literally attached to Cambridge Brewing brewpub which has great beers. It makes a nice 1-2 punch in an arms length.

Smokeshop is a solid recommendation, and what I was going to suggest.

Plus they have three locations. You could go to Kendall Square as you suggested, and also hit CBC (Lamplighter's a five minute walk away as well). Just went there for dinner after the CBC beer fest this past Saturday.

Or you could go to the Seaport location, and Row 34 is right there as well.

Or you could hit up the Assembly Square location, and there's a bunch of stuff to do around there plus Slumbrew's tap room is there.

Not only does Smokeshop have a killer bourbon list, they also have a decent craft beer list, and each location has a Trillium tap as well. If you have deep pockets you can drink some Pappy.

And oh, yeah the food is probably the main reason to go. Best BBQ in the city in my opinion.

Citizen Public House by Fenway is great for whiskey, very good for food and decent for beer. Gingerman has a big draft selection and is the only place I know of that does whiskey flights. But yeah, I'd do Cambridge Brewing and Smoke Shop next door.

Smokeshop has whiskey flights as well.

There's even a Pappy whiskey flight for $175...

    Citizen does whiskey flights, too.

Publick House in Brookline is another good option.

I was going to say the same thing but didn't want to over promise on BBQ to someone from Texas  @juneof44 if you do go to the Smoke Shop, try the BBQ and let us know what you think because I too think it's the best I've had in the Boston area.

Southern Kin in Assembly Row had ridiculous bourbon list when I went there. Food was excellent as well. Beer list was decent from what I remember but they go for the bourbon/whiskey thing more being a southern style restaurant.

Have you ever been to Smokeshop? Their newest location is also at Assembly.

The beer list and especially the food are world’s better than Southern Kin for me.

Bourbon list is top notch there too. Just my opinion though, definitely worth going if you haven’t been.

    Guys night out!

But seriously, next time you're at Assembly check it out. Or Kendall Square/the Seaport.
