What part of town you staying? That matters since Jax is way spread out.

Most breweries here close by 11pm on Fridays I think

Kickbacks (Riverside), HUGE taplist, open until 3am
Hoptingers (Riverside and Beaches), open until 2am, big taplist
Grape and Grain (cocktails, San Marco area) is open until 1am Friday nights. Just ok tap list
Sidecar (San Marco area) good cocktails and decent taplist/bottles is open until 2am
Green Room Brewing (Beaches) is open until 2am Fridays
Bottlenose Brewing (Southside) is open until 1am
I think Southern Swells (Beaches) closes at Midnight if you can make it.

Thanks a lot! Kickbacks looks great. I’m flexible on where to stay - I’ll probably book something near there. I assume they have some nice bottles in the cellar as well? Am going to try to make it to Southern Swells as well, the next day, as I hear it is the spot to go for beer in the area.

Are you coming into town this Friday? If so, for Saturday I suggest stopping first at Intuition. They are having their annual Underdark release. They are selling vertical bottles of base Underdark as well as 3 new variants.. If you end up staying in downtown area (Riverside/San Marco), Intuition is right there (Aardwolf too) so it will be easy. If you head to Beaches on Saturday (Southern Swells), don't forget to check out Reve. Reve is 5 minutes from Southern Swells and best new brewery in town.

If you are going to Southern Swells. You need to hit REVE,, it is only a few minutes down the road. No sign outside, but could quite possibly be the best beer in Jax!!

New bottle shop just opened on beach and Hodges. Called 9 zero pour. Haven’t been yet but looks to be 16 beers on tap with bottles and cans for sale. Love really good beer stop but stoked to have a shop less than a mile from me.

Greetings! I'll be in town later this week for the Players. The focus of the trip is golf, but I'm hoping to sneak out and hit a local brewery or two. We're staying in Ponte Vedra, so downtown JAX isn't on the radar. Is there one brewery in the PV area that you would say is "must-visit" above the others? I love hops, but like to try a variety of styles if that is helpful. Thanks in advance!

Definitely Southern Swells. If you can hit 2 I would do Green Room. I would recommend Reve also but a bit further away (check their hours though).

Beach Breweries are in play from PV. Southern Swells, Green Room, Reve, and Engine 15 (good taplist overall, including their beers and well-curated guest taps).

Planning on a day trip to Jacksonville for a few hours tomorrow. Never been to Southern Swells and have heard great things. I see they are releasing some cans tomorrow. Is this typically a stand in line/sell out in hours type of thing or is it just business as usual? Also does anybody know what time Reve opens on Saturday?

    Thanks

SS cans tend to last a couple days (except for the real popular ones). You should be able to get some when you pop in.

    Reve opens 2pm

How about safety around Aardwolf? I am participating their festival, and thinking I park 1003 Kings Ave (their suggestion). Can I walk to Aardwolf? Seems it takes just 10 min.

The area around aardwolf is industrial but not bad. Some homeless hanging around but they keep to themselves. I’d park at the king street garage or Uber right up to aardwolf

King Street garage seems to be better option, which we can park in the shade. Thanks bro. How much is parking fee?

Or are you talking about King Ave garage, not King Street one?

Kings Ave, not Kings street (that’s in riverside). Garage is 30 second walk from aardwolf.

Sorry, I used to work at Baptist and we had to park there and we called it king street but it is king ave. Not sure how much it costs. Couldn’t imagine much.

Hey y’all, I’m coming to JAX today for the NCAA tournament. Looks like brewery recommendations are well-covered. Anyone have good food or gastropub recommendations?

I’m traveling with a couple people who like beer, but aren’t enthusiasts, so any place that have broader appeal, but still a good beer selection would be nice. I’m staying in the Deerwood park area, if that helps.
