The Off Color Thread

I also really enjoyed Fox in the Snow, glad I grabbed a couple bottles (happy they're 375ml, too). Tart but not puckeringly sour, pleasant earthy cherry flavor. I've not opened my Staveyard Framboise yet, but based on Staveyard I'm expecting good things.

 

On draft there is so much raspberry its hard to even tell what the base beer is.

 

What was the price on them? If they’re 375, might be worth it to stop by.

Stout season has taken a toll on the wallet.

 

I didn’t pay close attention to the draft prices but bottles of Fox in the Snow (375ml) were $13, Staveyard Framboise (750ml) were $17 I believe. Shouldn’t help the wallet but worth it to me and indeed a nice break from stouts.

 

Thanks. Those arbe Super fair prices, and there’s no doubt in my mind, superior beers to the majority of stouts.

Averie Swanson left the position of head brewer at jester king and has moved to Chicago. Curious what this will lead to, but suffice to say it’s likely very much a good thing for Chicago beer...

Didn't Revolution and GI lose their head brewers recently?

 

Apparently some guy named Stephen Foster might be in Illinois and could be interested in any head brewing opening. Seems highly recommended.

On a foeder tour at Off Color the head guy said that him and Averie Swanson from Jester King are married. Perhaps why she’s moving to Chicago. He made it seem like they’re besties who got married as a joke/just for fun
