Pipeworks Releases and Updates (2019)

Basically what everyone else said: yes, but only certain places. I go to Beer Temple for my fix usually.

It is worth it to go to Ava because the grounds are awesome (one of my favorite experiences in a taproom), but I don't know that I would make a special trip.

 

I've never lowed PW to the level that some people here do (their BA stuff never blew me away like some, and their IPAs are great, but none are ever on my tip-top list), but I think they're definitely in the discussion for most consistent brewery in most/all styles.

Also, I really wanna try NvUvHaze.

 

The photo of it on their site looks awesome in the summer, but seeing it is south of St. Louis I start hearing dueling banjoes.....

 

NvU vs The Haze sounds delicious!! Is the Velocity of Light a new batch? Or is it still hanging around from their last run?

 

Is the Hazy Unicorn going to distribution?

I had Infinite Galaxy last night and it is a different beer from what came out in September. The 1/14 batch is really damn good

 

All 3 releases this weekend sound excellent. But I probably would have hit Dojo if NvUvH was the only one.

On a side note, would love to see Mud Monster again.

 

Agreed about all 3 of these new releases (especially that Peachy). I've been doing a [mostly] dry January, so this release is perfect timing for me.

 

N v U v Haze is fucking stellar. If you’re looking for a total hazy juice pulp bomb you’ll be disappointed. Rather, it’s a slightly hazier, slightly fruitier, less bitter N v U with less alcohol character. I love that they’ve kept the character of N v U but just tweaked it, and it tastes absolutely phenomenal.

 

Eww. I will not be satisfied until their NE IPA offerings are complete juice bombs, with all sweetness, no carbonation, zero bitterness and completely orange opaque... actually, I won't be satisfied until they just can plain orange juice. Yeah...All I actually wanted all along is just orange juice. /sarcasm

I'm actually very encouraged by your review. Will have to look into it.

 

I couldn't agree with your wording any further. That's all that needs to be said about this brew. Glad I took a drive today, plus the other 2 new brews ain't bad either!

 

It smells like NvU with a tropical backbone instead of the intense citrus. I'm getting hit with the tropical notes right away on the taste, which fade nicely into the big, citrus-y flavors of the normal offering. The huge, hoppy character of normal NvU is definitely still present, it's just different in a good way.

Honestly, I prefer normal NvU, but I believe I gave it a 4/5 on Untappd

With that as well, I'd gladly take one of the best IPAs in the city at $12/4-pack

 

NvU vs Haze is damn near perfect.

NvU is perfect, but this hazy version has everything I enjoy in hazy beer without any of the flaws I despise in hazy beer.
