I think Schorschbier (Can't spell it for the life of me) had very few of those 50+% ABV brews released.

With bottle counts that low, does it even count as a "release"? And how the heck does someone get the opportunity to make an original purchase for something that rare?

Your a lucky man I did a vertical of sorts with every Aventinus beer aka Aventinus, 2006 aged Aventinus, their Eisbock and Elder Aventinus I wish I woulda had a barrel aged one. I can't complain though it wasn't exactly bad without it lol.

Yup, and 36 bottles the only other time it's been released.

Split the full batch off to a gallon jug to fruit it as an experiment.

I had dieu du ciel's bourbon barrel aged Grande Noirceur. Only 23 bottles. I also had their exorciste (wild ale) that was only around 20 bottles. Neither were actually released outside the brewpub, though.

Why do all of these awesome Schlafly beers come out on the first of April, is that their anniversary?

As to quality and quantity... Cantillon Spuyten Duyvil = 168 bottles (a gross of 750's and 2 dozen 375's)...

Their First anniversary beer was even lower, in the 20's I believe.

Edit: Looked it up, 36 bottles actually.

I've randomly ended up trying 2 of the 3 (or 4?) bottles of Struise Earthmallet. I then got an offer to share an additional bottle a few months later...

some of the upright sole comps have been fairly low counts. i had one that was out of 42 bottles and opened another that was somewhere in the less than 50 bottle range.

I was going to say my homebrew ... last batch, I filled 2 quart growlers and a 750 swingtop, then got 38 12 oz bottles from it. The lowest I've had in my possession (still have it) is Natty Greene's 230th Anniversary, bottle 10/230. I'm trying to hold it until all 7 guys in my tasting group can get together at the same time... or at least the 6 of us who haven't tried it before!

Not in league with the rest mentioned, but White Birch Unforgettable was 96 bottles. I got #33. It was pretty decent at least.

I think the beers with the smallest bottle count that I own would have to be my Batch 4 Beatifications.

Whiskey Barrel Aged Aventinus... That sounds fantastic. How was it compared to the regular Aventinus?

I have shared large percentages of both of Keegan Ales 26 bottle releases, done in Tuthilltown Rye, and have one left of the 96 bottle done in Tuthilltown Bourbon barrels.
