Does anyone have any thoughts on line up times? I feel like it will be worse this week vs last considering the anniversary cans and the bottle will be much more sought after. Hoping there was a higher yield too so people aren't shut out so quickly.

Yup, the key there is "yield", which we never know because OH hates us. It's possible a 6am lineup would be needed, and it's also possible 11am sneak in could get you everything.

3rd Anni and 4th Anni were Triple batches I believe so I think the Anniversary IPA should last. I'm probably going to be there early though since the Anniversary release is always worth it.

You mean last year 3rd and 4th anny were triple batches or this year? How do you know? Not doubting , just curious

My memory is terrible but from what I can remember last year the 4th anniversary beer was made in large quantities and lasted all/most of the day; maybe even into the following day? Don’t remember exactly but either way it was easy to stroll over and grab some post-line. It was the prior anniversary re-brews that sold out quickly.

Obviously we don’t know exact plan for this anniversary release yet. Who knows what’s being sold alongside it. But would guess that it should be no worse than last weekend (hyped up re-releases in limited quantities), and potentially better (in the sense that whatever else is being sold in whatever quantities alongside it, the anniversary beer itself should stick around a while if last year is anything to go by). Now if they’ve brewed less this year and/or a large chunk goes to Rochester, then all bets are off.

All great points. I feel like the Anni beers in quality alone are worth getting there early if need be. Plus with the stout bottle there's a little more motivation.

Early rumors are that LGA2LGB is being released today?

I think the wild card is Rochester and how much they send there. Last year I didn't want to wait for 2nd and 3rd so I got growlers of 3rd and pours of both. I rolled up to OH around 1030ish and the line was still wrapped up to Garnet, I went and got food an then a beer at LIC and came back to no line around 12 and got 4th anny. When I left OH an hour or 2 later there was still a ton left.

I think it depends on what else is released and how much is split to Rochester. If you want everything, earlier is prob needed, but you should be able to show up in the afternoon and grab 5th from past years experience.

personally hoping I can time it like last week and show up with little to no line and get almost everything (missed Twice Baked) and then grab some pours. If its 3rd, 4th, 5th and the stout, I would love to get some 4th again but would be fine if I missed it and drank it on tap

Talking about the original releases, the 2nd and 3rd were single batches I think last year. I got there at like 5:45am and I think the cutoff was probably 6:30 or so to get all 3? Honestly I wish they'd just release 1-2 beers in a large quantity so that everyone can get some, that's what the Anniversary should be for right?

4th lasted longer than the 2nd and 3rd, but definitely sold out day of while it was still light out (so before 530 or so).

I missed out on 4th anni last year and I got there around 2PM. Last case was sold 10 mins before I arrived.

2nd and 3rd was gone last year if you came after 6 and they were two 4pks and three 4pks each? There was a ton of 4th though.

Agreed. Also the term "batch" is relative, since OH refuses to release what case counts are up front. A "batch" in early 2018 compared to a "batch" now might signify different case count totals since most beers seem to be sticking around longer than they ever have. I am pretty sure 3rd and 2nd were 3 4-pack limits last year so hopefully that is the case if they do 3rd and 4th this year

Andrew chatted with me about this and he says they're actually only sending 10% of the beer up to Rochester while producing 30% more beer than they were a year ago. @dhaakon can sort out what those two numbers mean for us, but I think it's a net good thing!

I had also wondered how much Rochester beer there was, but 10% is nothing. Those poor upstate souls need it! Also I'm eager for that relationship to eventually swing the other way and beer to come down to us once they blow that spot up!
