Supa Sumo was great. Wish there was some consistency with the cans. Or cans not brewed in October or November on shelves near me. Sosus was a huge miss for me. For a time I thought it was the Florida water that was ruining the cans. Now I have no clue why they can’t brew a consistent IPA or DIPA.

 

A friend brought cans of Pseudo over the other day. Dates were 1/3

I had quit on this beer for a while after finding incredible inconsistency in appearance. I’m not one for floaties and particulate in my beer.

These cans of PS are full on New England. Not a hint of dank, nor resin. It’s soft, mango type aroma, really clean finish, and the only complaint I’ve got is a hint of noticeable water treatment on the back end. But I’ll take that over over hopping or a chalky finish any day.

I’m still sad TG decided they needed to change the original PS, but I think people will really dig what’s in the cans dated 1/3.

 

The snow globe is what I don’t like. Buy the 1/3 batch if you see it.

Why is it so hard to find fresh stuff from TG? I drove everywhere between Orland Park and Evergreen Park binnys and lucked out with month old PS in Calumet City of all places. Everywhere else was 3 month old at least 10/26 dated. Even got excited about golden nuggets at trader Joe's and then realized it was last January

 

I suspect this is an issue between TG and distributors more than retail. TG may be making too much of certain SKUs, and the distributors buy too much, which means that when stores reorder, they are just getting the same batch again until the stocks are depleted at the distributor.

I think TG still needs to work out the sediment issue. I was in Decorah last weekend and brought back a bunch of their PA, IPA and DIPA offerings. The DDH PseudoSue growler and bomber had no sediment whatsoever. Neither did Galaxy PseudoSue growler or bomber, or the Mosaic PseudoSue. But the King Sue cans and Fire, Skulls & Money you really couldn’t pour the last bit out of the can because there were soooo many floaters. All the beers tasted really good, but the floater thing can be quite off putting.
