Has anyone seen the "Carton On The Road" beers distributed in NJ? Or where can we find them?

A week and a half late, but my top 5 Cartons
1. Regular Coffee
2. Sundae
3. This Town
4. Nitro Regular Coffee
5. Irish Coffee

 

Just listen to the latest episode of Steal This Beer. Oggy slipped in a comment at the end about how he was in Colorado discussing beers over beers with Michael Kane. I must say to this point I was personally curious whether the two of them got along. While carton always mentions that when he is out he drinks the Kane beers when he sees them on tap, I have found that Kane's absence on the podcast combined with the general lack of discussion with regard to any direct communication between the two, and their completely different approaches to beer I've always left me wondering. I really hope that the love child of this most recent conversation is a much anticipated collaboration between two of the top two Brewers in New Jersey

 

Less than a case left of “regular” Regular Coffee at Roger Wilco as of yesterday. Might very well be gone by now.

 

I’m pretty sure they did a one off collab (with other NJ brewers) in the past for a charity function. I can’t recall the details though.

Yeah, of course the beer fan in me wants to see them get along greatly and do more projects together. I mean, shit, pretty much every time I make the trip up to Carton I stop by Kane on the way back (or vice versa) so I’m obviously fans of both.

From a business perspective though it makes perfect sense why their relationship is the way it is. When you compete for shelf space or tap lines in pretty much the exact same market region you can’t deny that they are competitors. You can’t expect two companies in the same industry and the very same market area to get along famously. I’m cool with all of it because rather than get in the way of each other they compliment each other very nicely. Plus, competition is a great way to push innovation, Carton and Kane do amazing things for the NJ beer scene by constantly coming up with new and exciting beers; we’re all really lucky to have both them in the State.

 

Damn is idipa sold out?

 

In the past it has sat around in stores for a while.

 

Was there tonight and grabbed a four. Still 3 fours left or so.

 

NJ is weird. How many NJ collabs has Kane done outside of Troon the last few years? How many have carton done? Magnify? Conclave/twin elephant have very few collabs at all.

Icarus collabs a lot at least.

Wow. This has me all kinds of intrigued now.

 

You hit the nail on the head.

Why does everyone want to see the collaboration? So we can be blown away by how much better the sum will be than the individual parts.

Doomed for disappointment.

Carton has done a bunch and releases their collabs as &telier. I remember they did that Turkish delight beer with magnify. Holy shit that beer was bad. At least the version magnify released.
