Glad I stayed away. This release was a pure soap opera complete with people risking frost bite, requests for others to commit suicide (by poisoning themselves) and lost and found people with families at home worrying. It's hard to believe beer has anything to do with any of this.

    I didn't. I've got that slated for Season 2.

Maybe your hyperbole detector is in the shop right now, but holy shit that's still a ton of alcohol.

If that's "light work" for you, it might be time to re-evaluate your habits.

Please take a mug shot of Kevin and send to other half so they can brew “Kevin: Lost and Found at OH anniversary release DDH DIPA”. I envision a label looking like the back of a milk carton.

All jokes aside, glad he is OK.

And no good reason why Jeff Probst and Mark Burnett would not be interested in a Season 39 Survivor - Other Half.

Are OH IPAs just getting that much better or are the iterations worse? Cracked a 3rd just now and i'm finding it maltier than I remembered.

It's drinkable, but comparable to 2nd when it was fresh last year. Don't kick yourself for missing out on this one.

I get waiting in line for good beer in perhaps the middle of nowhere Massachusetts, but NYC has so much good beer readily available that it doesn't make sense to me. That said, I'm no stranger to the excitement 5 year old birthdays create. At the end of the day this cranky alcoholic got his 5th without waiting so that will keep me from complaining for a day or two.

So you're saying it would be appropriate if this beer had lactose?

All jokes aside, glad he is OK.

I dunno, I think you're wrong about that one. Maybe your buds are still burnt from hop boogers at the bottom of a year old can of second anniversary.

Warning, serious homering about to commence.

You are not wrong, but I love Other Half the most (maybe, finally, even more than Pile of Crowns!) I missed one or two of the first releases but I've otherwise been going pretty regularly since the first Brett Saison bottle or Green Diamonds can release, whichever was first. I like that I've seen it the whole way through and I'm happy to go a little out of my way to keep drinking OH beer. I think their IPA is among the best beer in the world and it's mostly all I want to drink. That they now do kickass berliner and stout is a plus! Those are the only 3 styles of beer I need.

No, that’s for the next beer in the series with the daydream treatment...

End of every episode needs a mule of the week. Some real contenders this week, if I might say so. I was on center street and they came around to give wristbands, some guy gave a hand signal and 8 guys got out of two parked cars. Ring leader is some kind of Mule Overlord.

As I approached Smith and 9th station on the F train I made eye contact with a random guy who was also carrying a large bag. We gave the whole "we know what's up" look and started talking as we exited the station. Within minutes @Feaor realized it was me, after a few comments about Beeradvocate. It was nice to hang out with him and some other strangers sharing some beer and shooting the shit, even though it was fucking freezing. We got there a little before 5:30am, and stood right by McDonald's which was by far the farthest back I've ever been, so I wasn't sure if I'd get anything other than 5th. Fortunately, they reduced limits more than I expected, and I ended up getting everything I wanted, so kudos to Other Half for doing that.

That said, the chair thing is pretty inexcusable, as is not managing the line better by dictating when wristbands are going out, so that people have frame of reference for when to start getting in line. Also available case counts. I know these points have been hounded on time and time again, but these types of releases need to be better managed.

Haven't cracked any of the cans yet, but tried OG, 5th and the two stouts on tap. All were really great, the banana stout was insane
