Yeah, still, fuck this place. When the actual sea rolls up on thier door delivering vitamins, that's when I'll be there.

The one pos is a definite mistake, but the joy was palpable for the VS crew. Just real cool to see. Dino and another founder were shaking hands as people entered, some industry friends were there, and the vibe is great. About 12 picnic tables inside. Shuffleboard table, big screen tv, great merch (but need some non structured hats!). A very cozy place. Delighted to have them on the south shore.

Anyone know what time they sold out of cans ?

Would love this to get super dramatic and see all the trillium haters move along to Vitamin Sea comparing old Congress St. to Announcement Day IPA.

Just what we need, another wait-in-line-for-beer brewery in New England.

    Hey
Matt we actually had 2 POS setups but because of the way the line was it was hard for people to get over to the other one at the other end of the bar. We're aware and we're looking at ways to improve the line

Thanks for the response, Dino. I was going off of the poster above who was there. Sounds like he missed the second one due to what you mention. Good luck with future releases.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what Vitamin Sea did yesterday, there was no avoiding a long line. When 300 people show up to a brewery with a capacity of 49 (seating capacity) you're going to wait. I went once in the morning and got cans and once in the evening for pours. By 7pm there was virtually no wait for pours.

I think plenty of breweries have opened early for cans only and then get in another line to enter the taproom later. Maybe that's an option for next week, 10am open for cans only, taproom at 12.

Treehouse could write a book on reducing lines/increasing efficiency but no matter what they do lines for big releases and peak hours will still upset some people.

    Cheers!

good call, we should only allow breweries that make mediocre beer. look on the bright side though, with all these people waiting in lines at breweries, you won't have to fight the masses at the 5 stores and 2 bars that got nugget nectar this year. you could probably hit up every spot in the nugget nectar lookout thread batting a thousand

Union Brewhouse in Weymouth has nugget nectar on tap. But watch out I had to wait 3-5 minutes to get a seat at the bar last night.

Someone PMed me that VC was pouring a Henry and Fran beer at thier opening and how it was illeagal. 1.) Why would I care? 2.)it was a collaboration beer.

People on this site are weird with the PMs I get. I don't hate VC. It's a joke to amuse myself. Want to crucify them? I'm not doing your bidding for you.

The fallacy of “waiting in line = quality” never ceases to amaze me. Knock yourself out spending time chasing & waiting for beer, champ.

It seems unavoidable on grand openings, especially ones that have been in the works for so long. Obviously it will lessen moving forward and they'll figure out ways to mitigate it.

This thread is very controversial and controversy has a silky mouthfeel. I look forward to checking out the new place sometime.

First, I appreciate your attitude and position, Thank You.

I'd like to quash any sort of rumor. Dino is and has been friend for sometime. I was just as excited as all of you for the opening! We had a bit more advance notice and had been talking with him about doing something special. I had already done a few candied beers and skittles is always a fun one. So, we did a slightly tweaked pilot version in Weymouth for opening day. You'll probably see us doing something unique whenever we feel like it at either brewery. Collaborations, like friendship, are an organic thing for a lot of us. Often you'll be hanging out just having an everyday conversation with a friend and have a fun idea with no one to stop you. Completely uninhibited creativity is one of the most wonderful things in the world. Being able to do that with friends makes it even better.~Zach

I showed up ~11:30 on Saturday, had beer in my hands ~12:45. The line crawled...but in fairness, hard to expect Treehouse-like efficiency in their first hours as a business.

As for the beer itself, I think Announcement Day is an excellent beer. Reminds me of some of the Other Half IPAs I have had. Closet Trillium comparison is probably Headroom...super murky, intensely hopped. I also had a pour of 'Another T-shirt shop' which I thought was very good.

I don’t think lines equate to quality but I’ve had enough of their beers to say that it is a quality product. I live about 10 minutes from VSB and I decided the line was too much, so I didn’t wait and I typically won’t chase anything that requires extreme effort. Mostly just busting your balls, sport
