Last couple of releases, the cans lasted about an hour on average. If you show up half an hour after can sales start, you should be fine.*

*Subject to change due to unpredictability of Chicagoland beer scene craziness.

Yeah the last time was the Friday before Christmas so I think that made the cans run out slightly faster.

When I was there in October they were gone by 12:30 +/- a few minutes.

Anyone try the new Bells hazy beer, Official? Has it it Chicagoland yet?

Bells doesn’t really make a beer that’s not above average, so I’m excited to try it.

Bitter Pops tapped it over the weekend (they had a week-long Bells celebration going on), so someone here might've tried it. In terms of quality, I was thinking the same.

That should be their new slogan: Bells- We don't really make a beer that is not above average.

So many double negatives I don't even know what it means...

One double negative is less than multiple double negatives.

Also, it means “how’s it taste”

Is Hop Butcher pretty easy to find in the north loop? I'm going to be in and out of the area and I've never tried them but wouldn't mind grabbing some cans to go. Especially looking for places where I can mix a 4 pack. Thanks

At least in my area (a bit north of North Loop, but still probably relevant), they disappear pretty quickly after release, so unless they're having a release when you're here, you're probably going to be out of luck.

Hop Butcher is generally not particularly easy to find if you're looking for their hazy beers. Timing is relatively important (getting there on the right day, for example).

And as usual, my advice is to check Binnys (the one on Grand in this case). Your best bet is to check these forums + Hop Butcher's social media accounts for their drop days, and then head out.

I found it on par with Solemn Oath's End All IPA. It is hazy, juicey, low bitterness, moderate alcohol but doesn't have the same mouthfeel or flavor punch of the more infamous hazy IPAs.

    Thanks for the description.

That’s sounds pretty tasty, and what I would I expect for a mass produced beer going to dozens of states.

I’m not very familiar with solemn oath all that much, but I’m really just hoping for a juicy beer that’s kinda crushable and readily available at a decent price point.

Gotta say, Bells Official is excellent, and a beer I will be buying the shit out of it this spring and summer.

It’s kinda like Oberon for the next generation. I see this being one of their staples at events going forward.

Tried Jumpy Juice from Revolution; on draft at the brewpub.

This had a nice flavor, but was WAY to biting/bitter on the mouthfeel/finish to qualify for the style (which I see as pillow-y & soft).

There was nice citrus flavors, but to me it was a slightly unfiltered west coast IPA. Not awful but if you're craving the style, I wouldn't recommend this.
