I'm trying to digest......father, husband, gets so shit faced he blacks out, falls asleep in the gutter, friend sends out an SOS, and his family who depends on him to provide food, shelter and guidance has no idea where the #$%@ he is????? OK. With that said, OH economics for the last 2 weeks......
    4000 cases sold (probably low).....$480,000.
    3000 Bottles sold $54,000
    Tap Room (guess) $30,000
    Total $564,000
    Happy Anniversary!!!!!!

Dhaakon may need to review and sign off on that math, but seems reasonable on face... what's the COGS and overhead though?

I'm actually pretty blown away by those numbers after looking at other regional forums. The next closest are Tree House at 45k and the KBBS release at 58k.

We complain far too much for them to reward us. Other Half releases an infected bottle and the #lynelifers are tripping over themselves to say how delicious it is. We need to create a seperate forum for our real opinions and just praise OH constantly on here.

I'll start. Thank you Other Half for adding lactose to 3rd Anniversary. Just when I thought a great beer couldn't get any better! You #juiceditup and turned it into a #porchbomb with #maximumjuice. Thank you!

I’m glad Kevin is safe and sound.

Here’s something I worked up for a friend a few years ago when he hadn’t come around in a while.
I think it could work here.

    I was there, I guess I’m a hybrid linelyfer/BA?

I think most are more so than they’d like to admit. Looked like a great time and the og taproom taplist looked sick.

Good to hear, I was worried you'd have alochol poisoning or possible death from drinking a stout.

I don’t want to talk too much about it and get myself disinvited for next year, all I can say is the wonka golden ticket comparison is spot on and it was one of my coolest beer experiences so far.

It's NY, the husband isn't the only person that is capable of providing guidance to a family. If he's spending hundreds of dollars on beer his family probably won't be in a position to starve tonight.

Thanks everyone reading through this thread is making work a lot more tolerable on a Monday morning, even from over 5,000km away this is a great read.

Weirdly I kinda really want to go and see one of these lines for myself having read through this thread - maybe on the next NY trip!

For what it's worth, aside from highly hyped releases such as the anniversary and the pre-anniversary releases the past 2 weekends - the lines are generally short and people are not lining up at 3am. Easy enough to walk into the brewery in the late afternoon/next day to get most or all of the neers that were released.

It's funny how many people that go and wait on line on a regular basis make comments about the #lynelifers. How does one tell the difference when standing on (in) line from the lynelifers and those who loathe them?

Funny I was just thinking the same thing.

    a) we talk about linelyfe vs anti-linelyfe, but at a minimum we could easily break it down into five groups, not two. And;

    b) it’s very much the case of the guy driving at 80mph on the highway that shakes his head and mutters “idiot” when someone passes him doing 85

Also reminds me of the term "Truck Chaser" who is of course someone who got there just before I (you) did.

Well for me, #lynelife is a culture moreso than the physical act waiting in line for beer. I waited on line on Saturday, but it came from a place of not wanting to miss out on the anniversary beer rather than a fun activity I do on Saturday mornings.

It's obviously a broad generalization, but there's a clear difference, at least to me, between someone who lines up to get beer on the most hyped release of the year vs someone who still lines up every Saturday morning despite the fact that there's almost never a need.

My own person bias isn't lost on me here, but I know for a lot of the true #lynelifers, camping on a sidewalk overnight and drinking with your buddies is their hobby. That became very apparent when beer started outlasting the line every weekend and people still lined up super early.

A good example, there's no lines at EQ, but that place is the embodiment of the #lynelife culture.

if you remove the hypocrisy and misinformation from this thread, it shrinks by 40%.

if you take out the personal bickering, futile complaints about pricing and OH's beer naming convention, and "x beer is tasting great right now" posts, we'd be down to 2 pages.
