Can’t speak for everyone but I do everything possible including skipping releases to not wait in/on a line. On here I’m always lobbying for the craft scene to get away from hype/lines. The posts above mine make pretty good points too.

Yeah I'm with you. I do my very best to avoid lines and would love to see them go away.

Full disclosure - I once lined up in a line of ~25 people at OH by accident. I don't know whether I timed it badly or maybe there was a last minute flurry between me leaving home and getting there

Fullest disclosure - there is one brewery I have lined up for beer multiple lines at - Hill Farmstead. I'm not going to do a 12-14 hour round trip to stay close to my favorite brewery and not buy their beer out of principle.

But between us at one end, and the true linelyfe that @brandnewcardock alluded to at the other, there are definitely a few different levels. The guys that generally won't line up, but do for something special like last weekend. The guys that would line up at 5am but think it's crazy to line up at midnight. The guys that use line sitters, or muling services. All those different groups are repped in this thread. And nobody is right or wrong (except the f******s that drink and drive, leave trash around, and are generally antisocial) .

I know you had a bad experience there last year, but EQ is actually incredibly chill outside of that Saturday morning window. The people that work there are all really nice to interact with outside of maybe 1 person. If you ever decide to give them another chance, I highly recommend checking out their new taproom on a Saturday afternoon.

Nice!, I will crack a 3rd this week, had an Einsteins Daydream last night instead. Friday night b4 we went home I did side by side of 4th and 5th, preferred 4th (think I posted that) but 5th is real good too. I did like the pour I got of The Old OH. Did remind me of some of the stuff coming out when Diamonds and Broccoli were the weekly releases. Glad I was able to get some cans as well. Also glad I'll be able to roll up mid afternoon and buy beer again now

Soliciting opinions, but I still don't understand this "green"/"it'll be better in a week" for this fifth anniversary IPA. Maybe my taste buds are off or moving it through multiple temperatures over a handful of hours until it reached my fridge threw off the flavors, but there is so little hop bite/burn to even complain about (to the point where it's only if I think about it that I even crosses my mind). It's very smooth as is, great aroma, and I can drink a pint down readily. Any less bite and it's really just juice.
If anything I might be missing the 4ths enigma to give a little extra zip as opposed to juice. Oh well it's great in any case so I guess I can't complain.

OH only cares about North Brooklyn now.

Do we think Other Half will finance a ferry between this location and Murray Hill, or will they have to rely solely on Ubers?

Alternative reply: This is nice, but I'm looking forward to Other Half: Amagansett more.

Real reply: That's actually very cool. I wonder if this will replace the current taproom as the main bar, and they'll convert the Gowanus place into a storefront kind of like what Trillium did.

I just mentioned it because everyone else did so it makes me sound knowledgeable.

No seriously - speaking only for myself - I just think it's interesting how these beers develop over the course of a couple weeks whether or not they were initially "green". And while when I had one (of many) on Saturday I thought maybe it could do with a little extra time, based off the one(s) I had yesterday, I agree it doesn't need it - tastes fantastic.

And anyway all hypothetical for me anyway. My lack of self control combined with my wife taxing 20% of every can I open, plus a few friends over at our place during the weekend, means I only have two cans left anyway....

oh wow i had never considered this could REPLACE the original location. i would be pretty upset, being a weekly regular who enjoys living walking distance... my regularity would definitely change if i had to get to williamsburg every time.

went to a friend's house this weekend who had a 64oz growler he filled last week, with nothing on the tag except 'daydream'. He couldn't remember which one it was, and I just hoped it wasn't layers. Of course, as soon as that weird grainy flavor hits, I knew thats what it was. Can they just brew space diamonds instead every time?

If they still only had the old tap room open, I would think this new location would become the new tap room location. Since they just opened up the new larger tap room, I highly doubt it will be replaced by this location when it does open up.

This has to be like Threes in Greenpoint, they'll open a trendy spot in the north and let the beer nerds do their thing in the dirty south.

4th Anniversary sold out about 10 minutes ahead of me. I was pretty bummed about that, especially with Rochester getting an allocation but it is what it is. I came in expecting not to get it but it was still disappointing.

On a similar note, 5th Anniversary sold out in Brooklyn but based on the latest post from Rochester, OH is going to be bringing more cans of 5th Anniversary up to Rochester instead of selling it here? Interesting decision.

Sure hope so! Nearly an hour to get to domino via train vs a 35 min walk to OG location for me...
