I’m kinda surprised this thread still exists. I don’t mind it being here but it seemed nuke worthy for some reason.

I've already started planning for the I Like PNW Beer (2020) thread. Spoiler alert: I still like it.

It's Extreme Beer Fest weekend. After staff gets done pounding all those extreme Pilsners, they'll get around to it.

Speaking of PNW beer, does Manny's Pale Ale make it to Portland often? Specifically at places that offer crowlers...

I see it on tap at the Horse Brass pretty often (or at least I used to), but that's about it. Unfortunately, I don't believe they offer crowlers.

I was about to recommend checking the tap list at the SE Portland Growler Guys.

But I just did, and there are empty spots in the taplist, and I know why, and now I'm sad.

I may well be wrong, but I don't think it's because of their upcoming closing. I just received a brew notice update, and assuming it's accurate, it sounds like they just put on a bunch of new stuff (Hawaiian Speedway for example).

I, too, may well be wrong. But to borrow a song title from The The*, "We Can't Stop What's Coming," and it won't be easy for me to get out of my habit of recommending that location of Growler Guys.

(* Not a metal band, btw.)

So I stopped by this afternoon, and unfortunately I stand corrected. As it turned out, Brendan himself was working behind the bar. Felt like old times talking to him... But there were 3 empty tap handles, and I gather this was a planned tapering down, according to Brendan. He indicated that as of the closing down party next month, they'll probably be down to 8 or 10 tap handles.

    I know I'll be there.

If the closing down party is on or before Mar. 12, then I will be there too.
