I think I rose the biggest stink last time, but have since moved away so I am not as vocal about it because I’m only there a few times a year. I also think last time, they made equally as absurd price hikes on growler fills, whereas this time, growler/crowler prices dropped... I got a crowler of BT Port for $21!

But yeah, $3 for a 3oz taster of something like Or Xata or $6 for a BT Variant is ridiculous. But for whatever reason, people aren’t fighting it this time.

I also made a huge stink last time, but now I go maybe once a year and am not in a society. So, I don’t really care.

Yeah those prices are pretty ridiculous. I’m only at one of the tasting rooms whenever I go to the area to pickup my Stasis bottles at BL or pickup my Reserve orders. With Green Cheek and Honey Pot now open, I find it less likely to stop by for flights now. Once Modern Times finally opens it will be far less often I visit. At this point, i’m just waiting for the anniversary party as it’ll likely be my last.

Prices at the tasting room went up?

Cool, I did not know about Honey Pot. My wife loves meads, will definitely check them out next time in the area.

I stopped going. Been pretty let down with their beers lately, left the society. I work a mile away and still don't go.

Not only are the prices ridiculous now, but there is no rhyme or reason to it. A 5 oz. pour of Mocha Wednesday is $10 (ouch), but a 32 oz. crowler of it is $33? Also, don't they sell bottles (roughly 25 oz.) for $40?

No way in hell I will complain about pricing, went to the tasting room a few weeks ago and got 3 flights of sour to dark between two of us, was out the door after tip for right around $30. Like, that is insanely good.

Sadly I think the general tap room audience will still visit while those who have been around a bit longer (and able to complain about pricing) visit elsewhere. There's always a new batch of beer fans excited to pay $8 for 3oz of 20% Pastry Stout.

3 full flights (5 pours each flight) AND tip for only $30? Does the Bruery have a happy hour i don't know about?

I was there a couple weekends ago and wasn't sure but thought the prices seemed even higher than last time (summer 2018ish?)

$6 for a taster felt over the top on the pricing.

That said, for a Saturday, it felt like a light crowd. Going back a few years ago, I always remember the place being so packed people were standing at barrels to set their drinks down. It's possible Terreux is getting a lot of that business, lightening the load the OG room would handle.

When it comes to tasters, I don't see how there's a lot of "waste" of beer like with the growler fills, so the idea that they have to continually add another $1 here or $2 there, strikes me as maybe a bit of a cash grab. Looking at a $1 per 4oz increase is the equivalent of increasing a 750ml bottle by over $6. But then they say the taster pours are 3oz, so...it's an even larger relative increase than $6 a bottle.

Since I'm only in the area a few times a year, I'm usually with friends, and it's on top of a tank of gas, the hit isn't too bad overall.

Maybe there's some shrinkage, maybe it's a cash grab, maybe they're looking to push people to crowlers/growlers/bottles, maybe they're looking to dissuade people from over indulging on high abv beers in the tasting room, maybe it's something else...but man, being down $12 after 2 tasters seems pretty outrageous and a point where locals would probably choose with their wallet.

Was that before or after the price change?

3 flights (of only the cheapest beer) would be $45 before discount. This was before the increase because no way are you getting 3 flights of "sour to dark" with tip for around $30 anymore.

According to my bank statement, I went on the 18th and spent $21 for 1 flight. With Reserve discount and including $2 or $3 tip I believe.

Just like February, I'm interested in every one of the March releases. They all look intriguing and I'm looking forward to getting them all.

I'm not a big fan of coffee in beer... So I guess good they're getting all of them out of the way at once?

Yeah, I know... Luckily even without the coffee ones there are still eighteen million remaining stouts to choose from:wink:

Funny thing is, I love coffee. Just not in my beer.

    Yeah, that's for sure.

Sometimes you can taste coffee in a stout, even when it's not added.
