My last can of 5th anniversary sadly has devolved quicker than I would’ve imagined. I really liked it right out of the gate too. It got a lot sweeter.

Visiting NYC from Chicago for Pastrytown. I’ll arrive mid day Friday wondering if there was a Saturday release for Green City or only a Thursday release?

basing everything solely on how they did green city, the release will be thursday that week not saturday, but obviously i could be wrong.

It might even be a week of collaborations that week based on all the brewers who visited over the weekend for NYC beer week: JWB, Monkish, etc.

It only takes two weeks to brew an IPA

A 10% triple ‘devolving’ after 3 weeks is a ludicrous statement. Had one last night and it’s as good as ever.

IMO it was super green until day 8. Day 9-11 it was great. Peaked on day 12. Fell off a cliff on day 15

Wow, you really go a lot of mileage from the one can you found in the McDonalds dumpster.

Especially for peak frat party punch bowl-ness on day 12. Would like to compare notes.

Don’t quote me, but 1pm(ish) was the true peak on the 12th. I had a can at breakfast, at lunch and at dinner. As I drank the lunchtime one in a bathroom stall at work I distinctly remember thinking “this is it”

I am not even gonna ask how the aroma was on that one.

agree to disagree on the ludicrousness of it all. I remember 3rd anniversary tasting solid and consistently awesome from a few days post canning to 2 months post canning. This one, not so much.

I think my 5th anniversary is just starting to peak...every time I've had one it's been better and better. I have like 5 left...

ok.. while there may be differing opinions on anni#5, here's a feel good story I'm sure everyone can get behind.

I'm walking to pick my kids up from their after school classes today, and I walk by Greenwood Park where an OH van is parked outside and two guys are loading in empty kegs. I recognized one of the guys from the brewery and made a passing joke about installing a keg in my kitchen down the street. He says, "Instead of a keg, can I give you a blessing?" And he walks into the front of the van, and hands me a can of Hop Showers. I, of course, immediately took out my bespoke wooden alphorn and celebrated this offering as loud as possible. I then proceeded to hug the dude and thanked him. He told me to "stay magnificent" and drove off.

The Other Half Santa may be coming to your town, people... stay alert.

I'm not big on declaring beers past their prime, but on my own, the 5th I had last night and tonight I enjoyed much less than earlier ones.... once again, I always wonder if its the environment and food I drink it with, but maybe it is not lasting or improving as much as triples do....

I had my first 5th anni last Sunday, having another one tonight, tastes exactly the same. Initial booziness that fades away and an incredibly soft beer.

I can't emphasize enough how good this hop showers is. It's smooth and creamy. It's the most quintissentially NEIPA beer Other Half has done. Go already, buy it all up.

Also where are we at with this meetup? If we can get enough people signed up, I think we can get some dedicated space (old taproom would be cool eh?), though would have to promise not to bash lactose for at least a week or so!

Count me in for old taproom. And will commit to drinking one tose beer. Tell them I was the first person ever to get a growler fill there, that should be enough juice to get us in :stuck_out_tongue:!
