I thought Cultivating Mass was outstanding, and I appreciate the 12oz format and pricing. I should’ve bought a six pack.

As I just noted in the "Northwest WBAYDN (Feb. 2019)" thread, I'm slowly working through a bottle of Ex Novo's Kill the Sun BA Imperial Stout with Coffee and Vanilla.

A very good stout to sip on as I sit on the couch and read and watch the attempted snowstorm outside.

Good news, BA Aztec will be back likely near the end of the year, we rebrewed it fairly recently. I believe Braggadocio is on the calendar this year as well. No word on BA Salted Caramel yet. I love Forth Wave and hope we're doing that one again soon.

Cultivating Mass just got racked to barrels a few weeks ago, it'll be back again... sometime.

You know if this is available at their new location? Sounds really nice.

We'll likely have a tasting flight of all the variants at the Milwaukie location at launch for a limited time, and hopefully at the pubs as well.

That's where I bought the bottle last night. There weren't a lot of bottles left, but I'm pretty sure I've also seen it available at New Seasons and Whole Foods over here in the Beaverton/Hillsboro area.

I'd be happy to pick up a bottle for you if you'd like. Let me know.

I appreciate the offer, but I'm not too far from the bre taproom and I'm gonna try to make it over there tomorrow if I'm not snowed in.

Even if you are snowed in, remember the old Russian proverb:

The church is near, but the road is icy. The tavern is far away, but I will walk carefully.

Anyone tried BA Mega Meow yet? Been meaning to pick up a bottle or 2 but the weather has prevented the trip to Georgetown.

Baerlic Pancake house is better than Double Stack....IMO. 11%. Cans available with no hype.

Also, my youth was spent late night at the pancake house filling my stomach with alcohol repellents. This beer honors that establishment and then some. Cheers

This is very good news. I likely won't be able to attend the Belmont Station event next Wednesday, but a Friday event over at John's is very doable I think.

Is there a better Russian Imperial Stout in the PNW than Matryoshka? I just finished a bottle, and OMG is it terrific. If I had to choose among Fremont's barrel aged masterpieces, and Deschutes Abyss, and Matryoshka, I'd have to pause quite a while before I could make a choice.

Matryoshka is classified on this site as an American Imperial Stout, but that's a mistake. It says "Russian Imperial Stout" right on the label.

gotta admit, i dont know the suble differences between Russian and American Imp stouts. that said, matryoshka sits right at the top along with KDS, Block 15 Breakfast with ______ , Rhino Suit as one of the best NW made stouts.

Don’t forget Tough Love, Suge Nite, Don Vanucci, Bend Brewing Big Bad Russian, and Kobold Merciless from this side of the mountains. We got it pretty good.

oh yeah. Lost Love (the special tough love in rye whiskey barrels) is one of the best stouts I have ever had. Tough Love is also excellent.
