I've definitely been to TE where it was standing room only while a crowd of people had a bunch of kids later in the evening with balloons AND another time where people had a little shindig going with platters.

So yeah, I support these rules. It's a small space - not really a place to hang out for 4+ hours having your own little party. If you want to do that - I am sure they can make arrangements if you contact them ahead of time.

    Here we go

News flash we did a thing last week! We bought two new fermenters from our new friends at Tuckahoe Brewing down the parkway in South Jersey. This is our first step into a phase 1 growth plan for 2019. These fermenters are sized to hold 15 barrels of beer but the working capacity of beer is only 12-13 barrels. This off size is perfect for us because it adds flexibility for double batching especially after we acquire our larger mash tun. For example, one thing we would be able to do is brew a double batch of say 7% ABV IPA at 6 barrels a clip and hope to yield 9-10 barrels of beer for a can run that would be equivalent to about 100 cases.

As for this weekend, we have a two fresh batches of beer dropping and some cans for sale on Sunday. The first beer tapping tonight is another episode of our rotating Nosh American IPA series where we build a beer around a single hop or a dual hop combo that we use in the dry hop. This time 7.2% ABV and we went all in with a hand selected Mosaic crop we were lucky to grab a little of from the crew at Trillium. An earthen berry wave glazes a silhouette of wheat, chit and Scottish pale malt. Notes of muskmelon cantaloupe hard melon candy, chewy strawberry, and mini blueberry muffins. The second beer dropping on Saturday is the luscious "Here There Be Monsters" 7.1% ABV American IPA. Sowed full of flaked oats, blend of pale and pilsner oats, and a thunderous clap of Vic Secret, Rakau, Motueka and Wakatu hops. Notes of rich and sweet fragrant pineapple, grassy pine meadows, peaches & muskmelon. There unfortunately won't be growler fills of this available until next weekend since we are conserving volume due to the can release. On that note, this Sunday at 12pm we will be releasing cans of our 6.4% ABV American IPA "Gathering Clouds". Little spelt helps lift the sweet malt tones into a heady mix teeming with notes of lemon peel, pine needles, caramelized pineapple, clean spice bitterness. Beautiful cluster of sweet, grass, resin and fruit. We got a decent yield so there will be around 200 single four pack allotments.

Finally, starting this weekend we put out some taproom rules we like to call the "Ten Craft Commandments" in honor of the late great Biggie. You will see these posted in the taproom, online, and for reference there is a picture of them at the bottom of this email. Please abide or feel the wrath . In all seriousness though this place is special to us with a lot of blood sweat and tears invested to create a unique atmosphere for the TEB community to enjoy the beers and each other's company, so we ask you all to please respect that. We also know quarters get tight at times and seating space eaten up but we have space expansion plans in the works for the very near future to address that so stay tuned. We will constantly be re-evaluating this for possible tweaks and love ourselves some feedback so in that spirit, please feel free to send a reply to this email with your thoughts. Cheers!

Rules seem pretty fair to me. I’ve never had a problem with kids in breweries, but family hours seem like a fine idea - I’ve got no problem with that. The party stuff is what it is, I suppose they have their reasons.

Now if they can just institute separate lines for pours and growlers/flights that’d be my commandment :stuck_out_tongue:

What are these releases like? Do you need to show up early or is 200 allotments going to last?

based on past experience, there will be a line pre-open, but maybe 75-100 people tops.... the rest will last at least an hour or two with no line. Roll up at 12:45-1pm with no issue. likely will last later.

The rules are really fair, IMHO. Goddamn are there quite a few entitled people commenting over in that Facebook thread. Damn.

I'll just throw in my usual hope that they can Diamonds and Pearls again.

went at ~1:30, got cans and tap room was very very chill, among the least amount of people I've seen in a while. Sold out around 3 I think.

Tried the chingas which I really enjoyed. Nice and roasty, Belgian subtle Belgian esthers and nice hoppiness on the end.

Enjoyed Nosh Mosaic as well, much fruiter take on mosaic than I unually notic - more of the blueberry and fruit punch than the cat pee, onion/herbal notes you sometimes get. Enjoyed it a lot.

I was there until about 1:30. Left with a growler of Nosh and a pint of 4 Minute Mile in my gut. A lot of kids and strollers in the tasting room but it was not crowded

Lotta IPA’s/Pale Ales in the pipeline..

Pumped Set the Vector is back! It’s traditionally been my fav

And........we're back. Just a quick update today on the beers coming out this weekend. Starting tonight we have updated version of a beer we haven't done in quite some time called "Mr. Pinkerton". We went with a Belgian yeast strain this time around, kicked the ABV up to 6.4%, and added a little rice all culminating in a drier overall beer that lemony tart, muzzy pink and berry delicious. Also tonight we have another iteration in our Saison series "Set the Vector" weighing in at 6.4% ABV. For this one we invited all the grains to the party including spelt, barley, rye, rice, oats & wheat to create a very soft profile and fun body texture to pair with those wonderful Saison esters. On Friday we have a fresh batch of the American Pale Ale "Lil' Shimmy Ye'" tapping. This is an oatted up APA, electric dirt, sticky and soft with notes of apricot pulp and honeydew melon nectar. An eclectic heirloom grist gives a wrinkle of crackery biscuit malt, just ‘nuff to let an ewey dewey DDH combo of Belma, Citra and Mosaic hops pop, bright and dank. Finally on Friday we got the return of crowd favorite "Split the Megahertz", a 6.7% ABV American IPA. Splash of milk sugar makes this guzzler slick and chewy in the jugular. DDH of Lemondrop, Citra and Galaxy wrapped up in soft golden arms. Notes of ripe honeydew, mango bellini, nectarine and mixed melon delight.

Sipped on some Set the Vector today and Lil Shimmy.

The mouthfeel in this Set the Vector is a little softer, but it remains an awesome Saison.

Like Shimmy is a little more bitter than its previous versions, from what I recall. Still hazy and fluffy, but it has a more pronounced herbal bitterness in this one to me.

    Still loving the Chingas

had the saison Friday, and really liked it... back to a more unadulterated, lower ABV which was nice, but as you mention it had a softer, maybe richer mouthfeel

have a growler of LSY that I'll probably tap later today and report back. Do you think its just a bit green (which is common I find on their fresh drops), or actually slightly different flavor profile?
