Just drinking a dark lager I truly enjoy with a couple of 70s hippies. Don't go getting all mad at me, or anything.

 

Incredible American porter. Lasting head retention/thick soapy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crusts; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, charcoal, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast earthiness. Light pine, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery hops; and roast/charred bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy, silky, bready malts; light sticky hops and chalky char/roast in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering hop/char bitter dryness; no cloying, acrid, astringency. Super smooth, minimal warming 5.4%. Not overly bitter/charred. Amazingly clean, rich, and well rounded malt complexity; with nice earthy hop balance against sweetness, and mild yeast fruitiness. Insanely spot on style. Wow! 4.28

Sorry for the delay folks, a friend came over and we uh..played patty cake, now she is gone. I’m sure I was sorely missed.

 

I did but in my defense I didn’t drink like two ounces because of the filmy gunk.

 

Bear Republic Sonoma Tart 5.2% is really good. I been passing over it becuz I been drinking IPAs and porters. Guava and Passion fruit isn't usually what I want when I want a beer. I was kind of sleep on it because I've had other similar beers that weren't anything outstanding. I'm glad I tried it. I'm going to get more of these while fresh for sure. Bear Republic is always so solid, I think they're underrated. I can't say that for most breweries.

 

Looking like a good night here BA's....Pizza, tequila, Hopslam and Steely Dan....

 

Grabbed a single of this the other day and . . . welp, glad it was a just a single. Cheers and GO HOOSIERS!!
