What do we think 'EXPERIMENTAL VERSION' means? A triple dose of lactose added to non-lactose beers?

Can’t be. Isn’t a tosed version of ACE just double citra daydream, which is already on there?

They have made an ACE UK version before (maybe last summer?). I don't recall what the difference was - possibly different yeast strain

damn ACE sold out right around 12? I rolled up like 1130ish I think and grabbed a 4 pack with almost no line, damn got lucky.

I said this to my GF Friday night in the taproom. Snowbirds 3 is good, but it almost taste identical to what I remember the 5th anny coffee tasting like. The VIP will be pretty similar to the Bananaversary as well. We still each bought 2 bottles for ourselves, but I wish there was more difference in some of these recipes instead of almost the same identical thing.

Also I thought the west coast IPA was really good. kind of a nice mash up of west coast and early NE ipas. I enjoyed it.

One way to change these stouts up would be to put almonds, as opposed to Marcona Almonds, in them.

I wish OH did a pay-go type festival. I did the beer week festival last year, I was ruined the next day, the all you can drink events are a young man's game.

Looks like 13th/14th gonna be the weekend!

Make sure you hire a La-Z-Boy that clearly states “reserved for SpinSamzo” so he can put his feet up while he waits.

Is Pastrytown indoors or outdoors? I just assumed indoors due to time of year but then saw in the FAQ that is is a rain or shine event so seems like it is outdoors?

Your liver (and pancreas) will be giving off so much heat it won’t matter

Funny...yesterday I put up a FT post for my last bottle of BA Snowbirds and was able to get multiple bottles of Snowbirds 3. All I could think about in the interim was "god damn I hope he doesn't read this" haha.

Drinking a Deep Orbit Centaurus right now and really enjoying it. It's getting to the point where I'm almost more excited for their stouts than IPAs these days. That's probably the pastry boi in me speaking though.

Speaking of: what's everyone's strategy going into this? Are you guys depriving yourselves as a means to facilitate the damage you're going to do to yourself or are you gonna continue business as usual? I'm taking the competitive eater approach to things; they all seem to eat at least a modest meal prior to the event as a means to condition their stomach for what it's about to endure. I think I'm just gonna drink 1-2 cans a night in hopes that this will keep my liver and pancreas vigilant for what I'm about to put it through.

I've been to a few beer festivals in my life, but none of them made me question my status-post wellbeing quite like this one.

I domed a few big beers over 10% to myself this weekend to hopefully build up my tolerance a bit. Had my first FO, a Bruery wheatwine, etc... staying sober until I arrive in Brooklyn Thursday then it's straight to Torst, and all my other favorite beer spots, a bottle share that night and then trying to take it a little easier Friday night so we're not all hungover the next day.

I'm hoping they have plenty of water stations, I'll have my lactaid and antacid for sure.

Current forecast looks like it's gonna be workable. 50+ degrees and partly sunny.

I grew up living with my grandfather and he was a seasoned brewer/alcoholic. He used to do most things outside with bare minimal coverage so we would always refer to it as his "invisible whiskey coat."

I would imagine this principle will work just as well come Saturday.

If it is run like Green City then the beer stations will be inside on 2 floors and the wrestling will be outside.

Not sure how I am going to survive this!
