I probably confused things. My wife and I are Wilkes University grads (PA). Daughter #1 got her undergrad in four years at JMU. Daughter #2 got both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from VT. Neither had to borrow. Both the wife and I borrowed our asses off to go to college. Took ten years after graduation to pay off the loans.

For the 1st time in my many many years....I don't think I am confused

Seeing that you are from VA...and had a kid go to JMU........ I hoped that you got to go to Brother's Craft Brewing in Harrisonburg at some point. Coconut Resolute is beyond words for a Coconut head like myself. 2 kids through college already.......one starting next year and another 9 years away........ College costs stink!!

I hope at least one of them went to school for nursing/healthcare, pretty soon you're going to need someone to change your diapers.

 

I have never been to Brothers but have had a few of their brews. My guess is that my daughter went there assuming it opened before 2005 (she graduated from JMU in 2004).

It is exactly what it sounds like, a party to celebrate the admittance of our 50th state to the union.
It started about 27 years ago when I bought my house. I wanted to host a party, but friends had already claimed the good holidays to have parties. Memorial Day, 4th of July, Arbor Day, Labor Day, MLK Day we’re all taken. Since I had just returned from a great vacation in Hawaii, I decided on Hawaiian Statehood Day. Every year since, we’ve had a party the third weekend of August to celebrate. The days of 60-70 people (with only 1 bathroom ) and cops showing up are long gone, but we still have a good time.

 

Sounds like a fun time had by all

 

I have just one question. What happened to the potato????

 

The potato got a big ego and became a liability. he was ummmm, disposed of.

 

I love the effort and creativity here.

 

Been there done that and ensured my space will never be invaded. Just like the movies shoot blanks.
