Anybody going? Pretty impressive guest list. $100 bones gets you 20 tastes, glass and a bottle of Nucleate. I heard tickets lasted a few days last year. http://www.homesbrewery.com/nucleate
Funny, I'm at HOMES right now to pick up my ticket. Heard a lot of great feedback about last year, I bet the tickets go faster this time around.
I would like to go to this but just don’t think I can make the trip back for it. I really like HOMES and they’ve got a great guest list.
I went last year and had a nice time. Great beer and solid food trucks. The timed releases were cool and I have to imagine if you stood in line you got a pour as it wasn't overly packed. They could use a little bigger tent though.
I'm kicking it around. 3 hour drive and 100 dollar admission are both pretty heavy but I haven't had anything below good from Homes and the guest list is out of control. Did it sell out quick last year?
Love to go, 4 hour trip might just book a room and make a day of it. But damn those guest brewers are insane. How many people at the fest approx?
These were the timed-released beers last year. HOMES “STRASPBERRY SHERBET” lactose sour TRANSIENT “BLUEBERRY ANACHRONISM” Michigan wild ale SPECIATION “LAURENTIAN: SUPERIOR” spontaneous ale CANTILLON “FOU’ FOUNE” fruited lambic with apricots DRIE FONTEINEN “ARMAND & GASTON” oude geuze TILQUIN “PINOT NOIR” fruited Lambic with pinot grapes
I don’t think so. It says all breweries are bringing their best hoppy and sour beer so I expect plenty of IPAs too.
I remember last year there were a bunch of good IPAs to mix in but I keep getting this and Zwanze Day mixed up.
Going for the first time, any advice? Or is it pretty much “watch for the timed tappings/pours and get in those lines early”? Is it pretty packed, usually? Under a tent? Eager for some expert intel, please.
Last year I remember the tent being really small, especially when it rained but it was all good. You won't be cramped unless it rains again. The food trucks were great and parking is easy. It was a really laid back crowed and the line for Fou was really long. The timed releases are posted so we chose the A+G from 3F and just hung around there for the 1st pour and skipped the other lines. There is so much good stuff you never really feel like you are missing out.
Beer list for the festival is here http://www.homesbrewery.com/beer Insane lineup, really stoked. Cantillon, Trillium, Other Half, Black Project, Mortalis, a lot of folks bringing their A-game.
They really didn’t care about the tickets but it’s hard to use them all. The pours were prob avg 4 oz. That’s 80 oz of beer.
