Yeah, I didn't understand that or the advertisements for their IG account. I hope they were at least fluorescent bulbs though. Those can be expensive.

Highlight beers included BA Adjunct Trail, Rainbow Sherbet, Jam the Radar, Chaos Grid, Make em say Uhh, Riot Juice, PBJ at Mikerphone, PB Cup Medianoche, Coconut Abraxas, and Strawberry Lips.

Most surprising 2 beers were coconut abraxas by perennial and strawberry lips by 18th street. Both can still hang even if the brewers aren't as hypey.

Biggest let downs included Faha (3 chiefs), Bake Kujira (wakefield), BA Pastry Syrup Sandwiches (EQ), BA Sump (Perennial), and BB Cherry Vanilla Darkness (Surly).

Most unusual beers were Bandidos de Fuego by Civil Society and One Night in Bangkok by Forager.

Most surprising brewer was Hidden Springs Ale Works out of Tampa.

Most annoying brewer in general was Wakefield. I think it's awesome they held on to beers until GA showed up to give more people a chance at trying them, but they had few stout options available during VIP and then after being posted for "Later," several of the other interesting stouts were already kicked.

Sounds like Green City is going to be even bigger this year!

I went to the Perennial event at the Well a little while ago. Really like Sump so had high expectations for the BA version. But yeah very underwhelming

That's when I got in line and didn't get any*. However, a dude cut + then he let his friend cut, and they said if they got the last pour they would give it to us. He also said he had two bottles at home. When his friend cut like 15 minutes later, the OG cutter informed him of the deal. Cutter #2 already had 2 full pours and was getting back into line.

....He poured us out some into our glasses to share.

*I am now torn if Beer Karma finally made it up to us and bake, or, if he just pretended he was sharing so we wouldn't be uppity...

I commented "Pandering to the bottom of the barrel of craft beer culture" on Fat Orange Cat's account when they made the Vito the Beer Whale Cat IPA.

    Kiss of death.

I guess it wouldn't be an OH event if there weren't lines

Ok, nobody cares about this anymore with pastry town, but because many of you have helped me determine what to buy, when to take a one hour public transit trip to Brooklyn, etc. I'll continue to update this. Fifth anniversary is still wonderful . Mild hop bite as I've boringly detailed, sweet, some malt. Holding steady from last week. You've got to three months from brew date I dare say safely. But if you're debating still drinking up I can't imagine it's getting better. So just remember to take your insulin I guess this weekend everyone. Thanks again for the updates. Other Half owes a handful of you a free green City tickets or something. Enjoy the day.

I give @NewmansOwn props for being 15 tasters in on some heavy abv beers and deciding he needs to whip out his phone and report back to us on BA. I give an A for effort.

That cat always looked pissed off at the world. I guess you can't really blame him.

Glad to hear 5th is holding up. I've still got another can or two. The 10%ers usually do hold up for quite some time.

So what's the over/under on number of "Kevins" that took a nap in Greenwood Cemetery some time shortly after 4?

My non-Canadian GF just informed me it was not Bake they shared (I couldn't hear) but it was Faha. Now I'm slightly disappointed. Beer Karma is not real.

Cmon guys I want to hear some absolute horror stories. That many beer nerds. That many beers over 12%. That much sugar. There must have been multiple total fuckshows going on.

Hah yeah I think I was halfway through typing another post when I gave up and then tried to post something else later, don’t judge me. also pretty sure I’ve got the flu but it was too late to back out.

I was on my second pour 15 minutes into the fest when I struck a conversation with two dudes behind me who mentioned they were on their 10th. Props to them.

I started out with BA Sump and was incredibly disappointed. EQ syrup sandwiches was a let down too. Weldwerks and Main and Mill were great with almost no line early on. Hope y’all had a good time. I’m still not sure if I can make it to the meetup if it’s the 30th but I’ll know soon!

VIP was the way to go, Newton and I basically got everything we wanted within the first hour save for the timed stuff, which were overhyped anyway. My favs were BA Adjunct Trail, Rainbow Sherbet, 2 Phones, Make em say Uhh, Strawberry Lips, and Permutation 57.

After these bottles I'm looking forward to not drinking a pastry stout for many months.
