Not in my area, but Unibroue puts out some really good beers.
In my area, Brickstone has several good beers.

New Heights Brewing Company (Nashville, TN) - This brewery makes consistently great quality beer, not just trendy beers. Their Navel Gazer Imperial Stout series beers are my personal favorites, as of this writing.

Black Abbey Brewing Company (Nashville, TN) - Very good lineup of Belgian style beers.

Mantra Artisan Ales (Franklin, TN) - A fearless variety of of quality brews, as if they were made with the intent to be paired with your favorite foods.

Bearded Iris Brewing (Nashville, TN) - This brewery perfected the New England style hazy and juicy IPA style, light years before it became the faddish craze that it is today.

Exactly. There is a huge difference in underrated and under the radar

Underrated - a brewery that continues to put out quality beer in different styles yet only gets between 3-3.75 because it isn't a DDH NEIPA or a pastry stout. Breweries like Stone and Sierra Nevada would be in this category.

Under the Radar - your local, non-distro place with great tap beers and maybe a crowler. Electric used to be this for me. They have blown up to HYPE MACHINE status now thanks to the hazebois.

I have recently returned to NJ from some time living in Florida, so I feel compelled to mention a few from both states...
    NJ:
    Cypress - Edison
    Czig Meister - Hackettstown
    Bolero Snort - Ridgefield Park
    Twin Elephant - Chatham Township
    Wet Ticket - Rahway

    FL:
Barrel Of Monks - Boca Raton (the best all-Belgian inspired breweries on this side of the pond!)
    Wicked Barley - Jacksonville
    Invasive Species - Fort Lauderdale
    Due South - Boynton Beach
    Bangin' Banjo - Pompano Beach

Burial Beer Company - Asheville, NC.
Great lagers, IPAs, stouts, and sours. Should be ranked up there with the best breweries in the US.

I agree that Bearded Iris is amazing, but I don't a brewery who has gotten a 4+ rating on every beer (except one that got a 3.89) released in the last two months is "underrated."

Not meant to be argumentative, more to focus on the meaning of "underrated."

When I hear about NY beer now, all the haze and sour in Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley takes up all the air in the room.

So I vote a couple of Upstate mid-size/regionals with solid lineups:
    Ithaca
    Southern Tier

Although my favorite Brew Pub is on the opposite coast from where I live, Port O Pints of Crescent City California is a pub with a great family "Cheers" type atmosphere. I really enjoyed every beer I tried and the food is fantastic. A must stop if you are going up the coast or checking out the Redwoods! Did I mention they brew an excellent beer?

Upper Pass in Tunbridge, Vermont is producing an awesome line up of beers. Try a Cloud Drop Double IPA, it is a little slice of heaven. Zero Gravity is Burlington, Vermont also rocks with a solid line up.

Bare Bottle Brewing out of San Francisco knocks it out of the park on virtually all of its beers. Lots of limited releases Like Jeff Hazos are excellent but they are on the top of their game in many categories. Another great one is TAPS. They just opened a distortion brewery in Tustin,CA but have been knocking it out of the for the last few years brewing at their restaurants in Corona and Brea, CA. Multiple GABF medal winners. TAPS is a can't miss

Those guys are definitely putting in some good work. Part of their low profile is probably that they don't distribute much and don't package outside of kegs but my word there are few breweries I have visited that have such solid range. I can't say as I've had anything from them that was absolutely world class, but from a blonde on through a stout with a stop everywhere in between they brew damn tasty beers

And they make one of the better reubens I've ever encountered with house made corned beef and saurkraut

I am a big fan of local brews (within reason). I like Combustion in Pickerington OH - they make a couple of great grapefruit IPAs. The Oaked Hogscraper is great too. I can’t say is underrated but definitely under the radar.

Southern Tier has some pretty good IPAs as well as some great specialty beers like Samoa This.

Drank a fresh focal banger next to 6 week old Gone Away IPA this evening. Gone Away was a clear winner, to everyone involved.

Sometimes getting exposed to foreign beers makes you realize how good you have it.

Their hoppy game is actually pretty darn solid as of late. I highly recommend pebbles.

    Both from MA:

Wormtown: Be Hopppy is my go-to beer, & a good value @ $58/case of 16 oz. cans. Their other beer is solid too, easy to find in my area.

Fort Hill: Tougher to find, but Fresh Pick is very good, & a great value @ ~ $40/case of 12 oz. cans.

I will add two breweries to the list:

    1) While there are a lot of good breweries in Asheville, I have not seen a lot of attention paid to a brewery that I would consider to be the BEST in Asheville: Burial Beer.

    2) Since starting grad school at Clemson, I've been in a mission to try out every good brewery in South Carolina. Surprisingly, I've found quite a few good ones (Swamp Rabbit, Birds Fly South, and Westbrook), but the brewery that stands out as arguably my favorite, yet also seemingly most underrated, is Edmond's Oast in Charleston, SC.
