I don't think they will just keep the bottles, so maybe locals or whoever is there the Wednesday after will get some. I am fine with either. This is a non-issue for me.

Except that it screws over people that entered the lottery honestly. Defeating the purpose of doing a lottery.

If I am reading all this correctly, anyone entering with multiple addresses can still only win once overall (they have to have ID that matches their name). Despite the things mentioned above I just don't see this being a big deal and don't feel it "defeats" the purpose of the lottery. But then again I won't be crying in my beer if I don't win so I feel like I have a lot less investment than most people here seem to have.

I understand they can only buy one bottle. But they still can win many many tickets. If they win many tickets and buy only the one, what happens to the tickets they didn't (couldn't) buy? Because other people that entered could not have won them.

Seriously? Hopefully that’s rhetorical. But if you’re really looking for an answer, it’s because one’s odds go down if others have entered multiple times. If hypothetically a lotto was between you and Mike Smith and both of you entered once, your odds are 1/2. If Mike entered 3 times, your odds are 1/4.

I like to rely on karma in these situations...if you enter multiple times under different email addresses then I like believing it’ll come back around. Cosmic justice or something like that.

I’m just kidding man. I honestly don’t think it’s cause for major concern.
No need. Now they have professional line sitting companies the rail crazies hire instead. Those people are insane.

I think the next question that needs to be asked is if the lottery idea doesn't seem fair to you...what would you suggest?

It is times like this I remind myself it is just beer. Currently I am drinking a refreshing bitburger. It paired well while reading a Dr. Sues book to my 6 and 8 year old and Its great while watching an episode of Tom and Jerry.

Point is, Hills Farmstead is great, but its just really good beer...

You idiots are hearing what you want to hear. Lotteries are fair when they are run properly. There is nothing limiting people from entering multiple times. Yes they can only buy one (or 4 if really ballsy). But them entering many times minimizes others chances of winning. They can win multiple tickets but can only close on one.

Maybe it's too much to ask for a fair lottery.

I'm starting to think the idiots that can't see the problem with this are playing dumb because they're the ones abusing the system.

This argument has almost been annoying enough to convince me to enter the lottery for all 4 days, and I don't even plan on buying a bottle.

So if somehow you found Ann on draft at the bar down the street from you tomorrow for $24 for a 6 ounce pour, you’d be an “idiot” to buy it right?

But what about the Mike Smith’s in this world? They’ve gone through extra trouble of finding homeless guys with the same names, gone to their friends house, their friends friends house, their local library and if their work allows it, entered the lottery that way!! What about MIIIIIKE man?! If this seemed ridiculous to you, so does you pointlessly going on about a lottery that you have noooooo control over. Just enter it like everyone else and hope for the best. Sincerely Mike Smith.

Yes. Most definitely proven by the knuckle draggers that came out of the woodwork who I never knew watched this thread until now

A lottery, run like most limited release online lotteries.

I just think it's funny as soon as Ann is posted to-go, a bunch of stranger-dangers come out of nowhere and complain about the fairness of a bottle lottery...the FOMO has you guys by the balls.

Or we just want a lottery to be run in a way that can't be abused by shitty people looking to profit off of it.

I guess that's a pretty terrible thing to ask for.

I am not an "idiot", "knuckle dragger" or "oblivious". I just don't care all that much about my odds. I am sure some people will enter multiple times. I won't. I do understand that brings my odds down but I am not that concerned about not winning the chance to buy a $100 bottle of beer. I am 100% certain I can find some other great beer to spend my money on if I don't win. I understand those who are upset by this and hopefully the company has a way to weed out extra entries (and they might, who knows?), but beer is just not that big an issue in my life.
