Also - what’s everybody bringing to share this year?

I picked up a goose Fulton ‘15 BA old ale today that should be a good change of pace. And a side project saison d’ blé that I got by accident because Side Project is the worst. I’ll try and get some More crowler hops because that went over great last year... or maybe that’s passé because it doesn’t taste like Shaun anymore. Maybe I’ll bring some Roger-dry-hooped Maplewood Crowlers/cans instead. And finally... a blueberry meets, I think. Uniformly midwestern, low abv / non-stout styles to keep the palate on its papillae.

I'm about 90% sure it's the same as last year. FFF has a long history of copy/paste.

Maybe it means that everyone gets the same rare 2019 DL variant but it was the variant itself which was randomly selected by the brewery this year.

I was going to bring Lumberjack Morning Break, Black Aggie, owls first hoot, 2013 and 2014 dark lord. Wife and I are both trying to get tickets. I didn’t get to go last year, does anyone remember how long tickets lasted last year? I know in 2017 it was about 3 and you could still get tickets, thank you

Gah. Bummed at the lack of extreme metal this year - this will be the first year I've been that I wasn't equally excited for the bands and the beer. Guess I don't need to worry about pacing myself too much to watch the tunes.

The best bottle shares were in the cattle chutes waiting to get in, then waiting to get your allotment, and then waiting for this or that or whatever, but now, those lines move too fast the past few years.

Damn fest improvements! We want non-moving lines again! Waxing nostalgic for the days when a line didn't move for hours....

As for the big tent, I've avoided it, pretty much. In fact, its my least favorite part of DLD. It's a mass of cloistered tables with hostile neck beards condescendingly scanning any share offering you may have against their mental whale tick list. Tsk tsk tsk....not good enough! Truth be told, the barriers to entry are too high. Plus, I'm semi-claustrophobic, and that place is way too packed. Not a fan. NTTAWWTOC.

    This. And....
You had me until less beer being permitted. I walked in last year with WAY over 72oz. The girl looked in my bag, commented that I had a lot of beer and sent me on my way.

Pretentious local neckbeards have ruined the shares at this event. Last year these 2 guys were walking around with a Henna Vanilla Caviar, both with 2 to 3oz in their cups barely past the neck of the bottle they were holding bragging how amazing it was. So dude with Morning Wood (no pun) asked to swap pours. They ridiculed the poor guy. Within 5 mins later I saw a guy with a MDb4 ask to swap pours “sorry dude, been there done that”. Really? What they didn’t see was guys friend who had a Assassin standing behind him until they turned and walked away. “Hey brah, wanna swap pours?” Guy told them to lick the bottle when he’s done. After hearing that I commemorated him on his attitude towards shitheads and received a very decent pour of his Assassin. Dude was my hero for the event.

Point is MOST go to this event to flip their variant and give away or take to shares their reg DL. I’m not wrong.
