http://beerstreetjournal.com/ommegang-celebrates-15-years-with-xv/ommegang-xv-15th-anniversary/ Does anyone have any info on this beer? I have been told its brewery only but I dont know anything other than that. It doesnt seem to have any reviews on BA. Any help would be much appreciated
Visited Ommegang back in August and bought two bottles, one of which i have already consumed Ommegang XV. XV is a Belgian-style Trappist Dark Ale (Reserve) that comes in a 750ml corked bottle.
It was good. Its dark like a Trappist would be and has an ABV of 9.6% that is not overwhelming. I believe its only available at the brewery but I dont know the bottle count.
ISO. would love to set up a trade or something to get a chance to try this beer. if anyone has one to swap, please let me know.
If it is distributed at all, I doubt it will be very large. A friend who picked a couple up was told it was brewery only by their staff. Not much on their website, other than that it's "Extremely Limited." http://www.ommegang.com/#!limited_release
Its one of the Belgian ales ive yet to try. Fantastic in my opinion. At $21 a duece it may seem a bit of a reach but i gaurentee you, you will not be disapointed.
I grabbed it @ BCTC when I first tried it, now it's on the shelves for ~$20 in buffalo, NY (as mendonjoe has already stated)...not entirely impressed, but I'm interested in seeing how it will age.
