Dark Lord Day (2019)

really dug last years lineup, was hoping for something similar as well. But yea, I probably won't be hanging around all night for all these bands as well

 

I got tickets really easily without choosing a group. My friend picked a group and got bumped out almost immediately then when he came back in, they were sold out.

 

HoF, Nuclear Assault, and Power Trip? I can do that. Sure, it could be a heavier line up and go down the metal obscurity rabbit hole quite a bit farther, but those are three pretty bad ass bands.

That's okay, Vanilla Caviar sucked (banana pudding? not what I was hoping for). Only reason I got a pour of it was my buddy had a DL variant and he had to see what it was (Cognac Muerte--hilarious, considering that's literally my worst rated FFF beer!).

 

You could probably say the same thing about the Phase 3 thread as well. Minus a handful of posts, that thread has been a tough read and yet I’ve read every page in fear of missing some important information. Shame.

If PT plays Heretics Fork I might just end up getting kicked out.

 

I believe the variants were $10 for a 5 oz pour. I managed to find all of the lines that didn't move, but my buddy buying several of them wasn't too pleased.

 

Man, Power Trip rules bummed I'm gonna miss this.

 

Eh, it's not like DLD is really the place to go for an obscure metal show anyway. I'm just happy they have a few bands in a row that I generally like instead of just one.

 

Roping off a 200x200 square foot area in front of the stage is reason enough to never visit Indiana ever again.

 

Tickets on sale this saturday at noon? I thought tickets were already sold the saturday before st patricks?

I know why they did it, it's just idiotic that they did.

 

I wasn't familiar with River Black. Hit up some you tube... pretty solid! I get a little bit of Death type sound from them...

Also watched a fair bit of Nuclear Assault at Wacken. Sounded just like they did back in the early 90's when I first started listening to them.

It'll be interesting to see who headlines? High on Fire because of the Grammy (meh), or Nuclear Assault because of history?

 

High on Fire because they are more popular.

 

Why aren't there any good metal bands for small children? Essentially someone screaming inane things about fluffy bunnies and pretty unicorns.
