I just wish their beers weren't so expensive. It makes no sense to be $14 a sixer when you're Three Floyds. They do not warrant that price at all for the cost the beers require to make or anything else beyond the clout they've built up. I get that they keep it there because they're obviously selling, but imagine how much more they'd sell at $10-11.

Lord Rear is the only one I've been buying because I want to support the borderline insane move of releasing an ESB in this market, and I'd buy the Hell out of Pride and Joy sixers (Yum Yum is so bland) as well as Jinx Proof sixers if they bring those back.

    This will be awesome indeed.
Who charges $14 for a sixer? Is that pricing already confirmed by 3Floyds for 6-pack cans? If you’re referring to beer shops and liquor stores charging $14 or so for sixers of their bottles, that’s not really within their sphere of influence (not entirely at least). At 3Floyds, most of their core line up beers are $11 (taxes included) for a 6 pack, with maybe Zombie Dust being $12. That pricing is middle of the road these days I think. If they continue to charge $11 and $12 for 6 pack of cans for their core line up, I’ll be even a more frequent customer.

FFF's pricing is always listed on their website and they are nowhere near $14/six pack. On the contrary, they are one of the better deals around considering there is no sales tax. Gumballhead is the equivalent of $9.80-$10.20 a six pack when you factor in the tax savings.

Being in Schaumburg, it is easier (and sometimes quicker) for me to go to FFF to pick up beers than it is to deal with the Chicago traffic (Half Acre, Corridor, etc.)

There aren't alot of posts in this thread but for my money, they are still the best brewery in our area.

It does already feel random what is getting the 12 oz vs 16oz treatment

Most shops in Chicago proper charge $12.99-13.99 across the board. I know it's cheaper at the brewery, but it's not very convenient to go there for most Chicagoans.

This is simply because they can, and people pay it.

The pricing upcharge is largely distributor level, I think, so I guess I shouldn't lay the blame at the Floyds' feet. Some stores do this too, but places like Binny's and Jewel are applying their standard formula to get their shelf pricing.

Yeah AK remaining in 6x12 would have been my preference. Damn you, Mikerphone.

so you can’t really see the specs on the AK cans but the GBH are definitely 12oz. i guess i assumes they would all be the same..i’m all for the sixer of 12oz vs. 4pk of pounders.

Most breweries that sell beer at home and through distributors have a decision to make. That decision is how expensive should our beer be through a retailer

Three Floyds sells their beer to retailers at basically the same price they sell it to customers walking up to their brewpub. So that’s why you see 13.99 6pk. Retailer need to make their money too, so you’ll see it for 12-14 bucks rathe than the $10 six pack you’d find at the brewery. Most breweries discount their beer for distributors so the distributor can pitch a reasonable price to retailers.

Why is alpha king in 16oz cans and gumballhead in 12oz cans? Seems backward.

Totally. But let's not forget all those consumers who begged the industry for 16oz 4 pack of cans got what they wanted when breweries were more than happy to comply with their request since the brewers could now sell 64oz of beer for the same price as 72oz of 12oz 6 packs. Sometimes the beer community isn't too bright.

Sadomagicale cans for sale. 19.2oz. $24 4pk. Or $7 can to drink at the brewpub.

They just changed that on the Kiosk page to say $6 for a can/$20 for the 4 pack.

Good to get their can game going. It wouldn’t surprise me if they sell cans to drink at DLD.

This is getting interesting. The standard FFF Bomber DIPA's and once a year type beers have not been released in some time. I have not seen Dreadnaught, Berzerker, Artic Panzer Wolf, etc. in months. Yet, here we are and another once a year beer (Rabbid Rabbit) just appeared in six packs. I hate to speculate but if FFF is moving all of these types of beers to 6-packs and 4-packs, this will be both shocking and excellent news going forward.
