    Seeing forum traffic about @vabeerguy and his bourbon 'discovery' compelled me to ponder my current stash of bourbons (does not include Scotch, Irish, Japanese or rye whiskies -- and my two remaining bottles of 16-year A.H. Hirsch and the Van Winkle 12-year remain unopened)...



    Looks like Black Maple Hill and some La Cumbre Altimeter to open up my afternoon while in 'The Fortress of Solitude'...

    About to start a Rauchbier blind tasting with a few friends... Paired along with smoked cheeses and some sausage. My homebrew Rauchbier will also join this five, which is right in line with these (nearly 90% smoked malt, mixed between Beechwood, Cherry and Mesquite wood). The only one I couldn't get for this tasting was the Weizen or Krausen... Weizen was sold out and Krausen never seemed to make it to Ohio... Which is a bummer!

    @dennis3951 my uber (wife) made a stop on the way home. Drinking a Intergalactic Event. For a NEIPA, it’s a touch bitter from some grapefruit.

    it's my Ohio rust belt roots coming through - pairing beer with a shot.

    and though my current stash is (mostly) relatively high end, I do enjoy Old Crow, Old Grand Dad, and most Jim Beam products as well...
