Nope, no need to activate at front gate. I thought you might need to but it worked fine swapping them inside the fest.

5 of us this year. 4 group A and a single group B. Can’t wait, always a good time.

What's everyone bringing to share this year?

I'm flying solo (group A), but I hear people appreciate trying non-local stuff, so I'll probably bring Appervation, DB Dark App, my Prairie dawg and some Masthead haze.

First year being dumb enough to get tix for this. Apparently also missed the part where you had some ability to choose which group you were in? Ended up with Group E and have no idea how I'll even be awake at that crazy late time frame. Should be a shit show.

Take it easy, take it slow, eat food and rinse your glass after every share and drink the rinse. You'll be golden, although you could also show up later too. We do the full day and it's pretty foggy by the end but the cabbies seem to enjoy it.

The old pro tip is to bring a couple partially frozen water bottles, which keep your share bottles cold and then melt throughout the day (if it's warm enough, hopefully). I keep a couple unfrozen too. They've handed out free water bottles too (at stations that are open to donations for a cause).

The benefit to group E is that you get your bottles later so there is less time for them to be stolen. The drawback is that if you go hard in group E and pass out, you may wind up without a hand if someone cuts it off so they can use it to get your allocation.

Honestly, the crowds and the drunks are headed home by group E. Last year, there was no waiting for taps by Group E. Just show up later in the day to make sure you pace yourself.

If I had Group E, I'd definitely show up later. I'm starting to be less and less inclined to be part of the early crowd. My old ass just doesn't see much joy anymore in getting up early to go drink when I can just do it later. It's a fun time, but you can still have a fun time sharing later, plus the lines are practically gone once it hits a certain time. That being said, I'll probably be part of the early (or at least semi-early) crowd again this year.

Realistically, not sure yet. Will probably be a mix 6 or so of Prairie Dawg beers including my own.

I would imagine there's the least amount of people during Group A and after Group E, right? Like, those would be the best times for shorter lines? Already strategizing. Wonder if going for a couple hours during Group A and then going back to my parents' house for awhile and then coming back after Group E for round 2 makes the most sense.

Remind me again about the entrance process last year. Was there a ticket in addition to the wrist fob or did they just scan the wrist fob on entrance without checking it against your name?

Earliest morning (Group A time) is the busiest. Lots of people show up early to stand in line and get in right away, for Dark Matter and other swag, and also want to rush to draft stations to try to get their variant tastes, if they can, before they get their bottles and leave.

As @Sabtos said, it definitely isn't shorter lines early in the day during Group A. The lines are bad pretty much right away all the way through early afternoon.

Makes sense, I think I confused myself thinking that only Group A people will get in at that time forgetting that the groups are just for bottle purposes. Good looking out, thanks

Yeeeah problem is I'm coming with a bunch of other people and we'll be there all day. May look more into the re-entry rules to see if I can head out after the morning, then back for bottles at the end of the day. Hmmm

Wow so i booked the Best Western in Hammond on 179th St in December for $88 a night i see they now jacked the rates to 129/Thursday and 229/Friday & Saturday. I dont recall them doing that last year crazy. Also appears they are only allowing Friday with Saturday stay or saying sold out. It was ok hotel not sure worth $229/night if i wouldnt of had the reservation for $88/night.
