I am genuinely curious what the people calling FT 'too boozy' or 'too hot' expected. The beer picked up 7-8% ABV from being racked into bourbon barrels 4 different times ffs. If you actually like bourbon you'll like FT.

FT is interesting because it does begin to venture into that "Well if you like Bourbon..." realm that is a bit outside traditional beer. I guess it's cool to try and demean people if they don't like all barrel influence in their beer, but the fact remains that if I want a good Bourbon then I'll grab one and not a beer.

FT is not a better beer than FO (and that's without discussing vintages).

You’re not wrong, but Bottle Logic pretty much said as much when they announced the beer.

I think Theorem was well done for the description. But it’s also completely different from drinking a FO or a Forces.

I thought it was boozy, but not terrible. I prefer the FO that came from it, sure, but I don't think that it was a mess of any sort. I'm not sure time is the key to this whole thing, but I can agree I'd be interested in seeing what it tastes a few months from now...I suppose that's why we're not trading any of it apart from one.

I really liked the Laphraoig scotch barrel aged stout. That kind of weirdness I can kind of get behind.

I'm expecting FT to basically be a better, thicker more vanilla-ey Black Tuesday.

I think the (lack of) thickness was the only disappointment to me. It was thinner than expected considering FOb3 was the base. But its definitely still thicker than Black Tuesday and pours darker as well.

Couldn't agree more. Having tried all the other stouts these 2 where on my list and I really enjoyed them. I wish they took the time to some non-BA stuff like trill does or make non BA batches of the beers we already love and enjoy.

You're right. I know nothing about the brewing process but it makes sense that sitting in each additional barrel and soaking up the trace bourbon from each barrel would lead to it thinning out the base.

General question. Is there an official minimum time to be officially called barrel aged? Thanks.

The beer just had to be randall'd through the barrel.

I just saw that. Seriously WFT.......

    From BL's post yesterday:
"There is absolutely no risk that we'll run out of #FundamentalTheorem draft today - pace yourself with this 20.59% monster! We're hoping it will pour through Wednesday, but keep an eye on the living draft list at our profile link!⁣"

It must have been all those people getting pours just to transfer to secondary containers. Keep your eye out: FT: 12oz of FT in an Kirkland waterbottle ISO: a night with your mom

I also hope to see POG Juice and Melon Baller brewed more often. They're up there with Greyhound for me.

Am I reading the info online correct that BL opens every day this week at 11 am as opposed to the normal 4 pm and so fundamental theorem bottle pick up starts as early as 11 am all week?
    Thanks!
