Genuinely - I respect your saint-like level of patience with them. And hopefully they come through for you. But the proof is in the pudding and so far you guys have been sitting around for 18 months, and all you've got to show for it is what (sorry I skimmed the thread, maybe there was more than this) - a mediocre wine barrel aged stout? These guys sound full of shit.

    I'm imagining this thread in 2024 -

Hoppedelic: it's pretty frustrating I agree, but I'm excited to see what these stouts taste like now that they've been aging for 6 years

I’d actually be open to that if they could just rack it to fresh barrels once a year haha.

We all know aged in 3 months is the sweet spot  #3Chiefs

I mean... what's to stop them? I think they've already ripped everyone off, it doesn't take this long to put out decent product. Just be done with it and admit it isn't going to happen.

    Well.. Small claims court..

We'll get our beer, but who knows when or how good it will be. My expectations are very low. Especially after that last bottle.

I agree - all we can do at this point is wait and it's pretty much unfathomable to think that they won't deliver on the bottles (although there's always the risk that they could go under before then, in which case we're SOL). I guess you could say that you are out the 2.5% per year that you would have received had you kept it in the bank (which would be $4/year, assuming you can even find a savings account that pays you 2.5%), but if you went to the tasting room and got your discount, you would have covered that (and more). I still have high hopes. Call me an optimist.

Imagine if they were transparent and said 'Yep, hardly anyone joined so hasn't been a priority. But, we will deliver the bottles. Eventually.'

To me, a non member, this seems preferable to the current shuck and jive they got going.

Don’t worry. All 20 of you will be taken care of in these next few years. Btw what was the reason why so many of you joined this membership in the first place? Does Dr Bill have a great track record for brewing? I don’t know much about the guy besides seeing him at stone hosting bottle shares.

The only reason I joined was to get access to some new barrel aged beer. I saw that they will ship the beers when they’re ready so I joined. I live in NorCal so I don’t have access to a lot of BA beer other than the stuff that hits national distro and actually makes it up here or my main source which is the Bruery RS. Dr. Bill is an owner but he is not in charge of the barrel program, that job belongs to Preston Weesner who has a very good track record for producing barrel aged beer. I’m guessing most people who joined did so because he is at the helm.

I think everyone pretty much nailed it by saying all they care about is pumping hazy cans out to every location willing to say 'yes' rather than producing excellent limited release BA beers for their members.

Spent the last few days reading that JWB OG thread. Man it really really lives up to the hype. Page 120 has a nice crossover with this thread.

I followed them for a while on Instagram before they opened, and their operation and tasting room looked impressive.. I assumed there was some bankroll behind them, and Dr. Bill would have some legit hook ups for barrels, recipes, collabs, etc.. Their hazy stuff and berliners are good, and some of their non BA stouts have been really solid.. They just can't get the bottles together.

And just like that, another month and a half has passed since our last email.. I’m sure everyone loved drinking our member beers on tap at the anniversary party.. is it so hard to bottle it?

I'm surprised they haven't just done this. Bottle SOMETHING. Deliver that part and call it a day. Admit it didn't work out and move forward with business as usual.

Well the website is finally up and running. Hopefully that means member logins and beer coming soon haha.

“Wild Barrel Brewing Company is building an extensive barrel program, beginning with dozens now and progressing to 1,000 barrels within the first few years. The brewery will hold several releases each year that will include a variety of small batch barrel-aged sours along with Bourbon-barrel Imperial Stout variations.”

“Wild Barrel will produce traditional craft beer, as well as approximately 1,000 barrels of sour style beer and 800 bourbon barrels of aged non-sour beer. “
