You should give the food trucks a try. They are definitely part of the southern California experience. You might be surprised by how good they can be.

The hot dog truck from last night was pretty bomb and cheap. Had a bacon wrapped heart attack, extra mustard extra onions.

The Brew Wings truck is pretty damn good too.

Brew Wings and Dumpling Truck were the highlights from last year for my group.

@EastHarris I respectfully disagree that this is one of the best Chinese restaurants in OC (having a self-proclaimed refined Chinese food palette) and the location could be a little off-putting. If you are coming from PA, I would suggest going to Karl Strauss or Golden Road near Angel stadium. While larger chain operations and AB inbev organizations, at least they are more beer-centric and clean. PLUS, you can try Nobel Ale Works while there.

North County OC has a ton of great choices depending on the food you like. The Mexican food around the area is also really good that you might not get in PA. Happy to make more suggestions if you have a particular type of food you are craving.

Coming all the way from PA just to try GR would suck big time

Mas' is an excellent recommendation. It's also HUGE so getting a table shouldn't be an issue. You could also drive south ~ 10 minutes to Old Town Orange which has a handful of spots (Felix for Cuban/Spanish, Bruxie for fried chicken/waffles, Haven). You would also be near breweries like Chapman Crafted and Green Cheek. As for the food trucks, I do miss Hobo Co Pizza since moving away from OC.

Why Bottle Logic would go from 4 to 3 pour stations makes no sense to me. Last year I hung out for a bit every day because it was so easy to get beers. This year i get a pour or 2 then leave. I'm not waiting over a half hour for a pour more than once.

You had me at Karl Strauss (always underrated and the Anaheim location consistently puts out solid small batches), and then lost me at Golden Road.

Please don't go to Golden Road @EastHarris. Or Noble. Do visit Week of Logic while here because you'll be able to try a lot of great beer. Come early for the best results - perfect for vacation! You definitely won't leave disappointed.

    Then visit Green Cheek.

Went to Karl Strauss tonight incidentally for a casual business dinner. It was great! I have low expectations for these kinds of brewpub operations (we have equivalents on the east coast), but was pleasantly suprised by everything I had. Boat shoes was a standout in my opinion, as was their Hefe. Food and service was great to boot. What more could you want?

Still going to try a Bottle Logic visit. I originally picked it because of the proximity to a couple others (Asylum, Hoparazzi) that seemed worth checking out.

Thanks again for the tips and entertaining my momentary distraction from this thread.

Hoparazzi makes a great cherry sour called Cerise. Their fresh beer offerings are below average, but their sours really make them worth a visit!

I second this. Last time I was there the Cerise and the Apple cider sour they had stood out. It’s also like a 2 minute walk from Bottle Logic and is cheap so worth trying and forming your own opinion.

Dark Star with Reese's Pnut butter cup kicked sometime before 2 pm, but the bartenders say it'll go back on around 4,

Is there any good way of contacting BL this week? I got a piece of defective merch today, and am trying to figure out whether I could swap it out for a functioning version if I stop by tomorrow morning before I leave for vacation...

Thanks for the guidance! I should say, since this was a public post: super, super minor issue. Hat won't stay snapped, even when not on anyone's head. Loving the other pieces of merch I bought!!!

Swung into Bottle Logic tonight around 7pm and had an amazing night. I was stunned by the variety of what was available and the depth of everything I had. No filler. Took a group of coworkers who are AAA league beer drinkers and all of them said at some point during the night that the beer they were drinking was the best they ever had. An awesome scene too. Thanks for all of the recommendations! Glad this worked out the way it did.

Didn't get to try the Reese's DSN, but I did rather like the Macadamia version. Jury's out on the Ruby Port one.

Also got to try my first ever Horus beer...but in ice cream. Tasted great. Love the swirled raspberry in the ice cream.

Starting to get tough going there every day again though. If I get there early enough tonight before the Glen line starts backing up (or even if it is) I might just go with the lagers or shandys and dip out.

You should try the ice cream mixed with glass of DSN or sumpin' like that. An adult beer float. Excellent.
