It will last a long while in bottles, they could keep it around for onsite only if they wanted.

I think it's fine to charge whatever they want, and they're not the only brewery that charges high prices for bottles that will have large demand on secondary markets. I just think it's a little rich that they are trying to use resellers as an excuse for the price. They're a business and they want to make money and they know they will sell the entire bottling run out at $100 a bottle. That's all. They make a lot more money this way as opposed to offering it on-site, so that's why they're doing it.

Why would they make more money like this than on-site? For on-site pours the price is always more than the retail bottle price (every brewery, not HF specific).

Overall their prices are very low. The regular rotation farmhouse 750's (Arthur, Dorothy, Florence, etc.) are some of the best prices for that style.

Last release of Ann was onsite only and it did not last a while. They expected it to last through the weekend but it was crazy on Wednesday and I think they sold out early Thursday.

In my opinion, without any real knowledge of what they are thinking, the reason for the lottery is to prevent crazy crowds and lines and prevent people from showing up insanely early for the next days open.

That went out the window with Damon FBV, Damon, Samuel, and box sets all within the last few months. I expect Clover will be nonsense whenever that comes, as well.

Maybe this is the one beer in their portfolio that warrants giving everyone a "fair" shot. I don't know.

Damon and Samuel were not that bad at all. The last Art release was definitely crazy. Ann would be a level beyond any of them though (based on my opinion and experience).

I heard they do it to create user generated content on message boards.

They always do onsite tickets too and I haven't had a lot of trouble grabbing a pair the last few years.

But how would they tell the difference between let's say a bunch of "Mike Smith's"? You could enter multiple times from separate emails and sell FOFA tix on the secondary market. Totally unfair ! Then FOFA goes up $200 a ticket.

Is FOFA going to be Hill exclusive again this year, or will Shaun allow his brewing friends to pour their beers?

I didn't see an update either way yet. I preferred the HF only out of the handful of times I attended. What do you prefer?

I had a blast talking with the other brewers in the past, but that's just me.

Because no one actually wants to drink any of this beer, they just want to look at it or sell it!

What's the taxi and/or ride share situation like in Greensboro? Is it possible to take a taxi from Hill Farmstead to an airbnb a couple of miles away?

Non-existent, especially considering there's barely any cell service and Hill won't share their Wifi

Two years ago I basically sat in front of the Auval (I think) table, sucking down beers, talking to those guys and laughing at the Hill line.

    I welcome variety.

Yeah i posted up with Adair that year as, you saw, no one really went anywhere other than the HF line and SP line, and she was like "try my beer, please?". Also the year I discovered the Papas Gyro, swoon.
