I'm the op and no it's no joke. The beer there is ok heck you can even get Budweiser brewed in San palo but it's not the same. But to sa where the heck are you going to get that. I'm way north of any big city and shipping a container with stuff for my winter home and sending 25 cases is a bit much but maybe 5 or 6 would be good

I think that describes most beer guys’ bedrooms, neverming their beer cellars.

If you would be honest with yourself you would admit, that here, you are back-pedaling.

Did Sweatshirt flee the country to Vancouver? The NE forum will never be the same.

Don't know the exact answer, but I try to drink a beer I've bought within 90 days unless I'm planning to age it

This subject comes up all the time, and I’m firmly in the fresher the better. I really don’t care much to buy IPAs that are over a month old, why? Because I don’t have to, the same applies to lagers and Pils, there’s always local options. It does take most Cali or West Coast hoppy beers off of my list though. I’m sure this is problem in a lot of areas and it absolutely has to impact these larger regional or national brands that are dying on the shelf, it’s certinly hurting retailers who know better. If they buy 3-4 month old Cali ipas from their distributors and it sits for another 3-4 months unsold it just turns into a cycle of lost revenue. Can’t sell it = lost money. Some poor sap buys that 8 month old ipa and declares it lousy which hurts the brewer and the retailer who sells “shit” beer. Quite the dilemma.

What is the import situation there? Can you get SNPA for example? How about European imports?

Over the past year or two have you noticed any aspects of a craft beer movement in Brazil?

    Cheers!

OK, 69 posts in and unless I missed it, so far no one has suggested he just buy a bunch of cases of IPAs and ship them. After all, they are intended for long sea voyages, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

    I thought the same thing.
20' shipping container. Vacation home in Brazil. Shipping cases of Sam Adams Summer Ale.

Why people do not use the search function is a mystery.
    Cheers.

Go back and re read it slim.

Beer starts degrading the moment its beer. How its stored will exacerbate thatd degradation. Beware OP, beware.

if Peru has one, surely Brazil has a nice drinkable summer ale.

But it sounds like you are stubbornly obsessed with Sam Adams and are going to do this anyway, so why even come here asking? This is a forum where people frequently complain about 3 week old beer.

Honestly caipirinhas on the beach sound way better than Sam Adams.

He is hoping that we will endorse his thoughts. I have seen a number of threads started in a similar manner.

I think he has 'received' the message from a number of BAs (including me) that it is not a wise idea for him to export this beer. It would appear that he will proceed with this 'unwise' idea?

    Cheers!

On the other hand, if he has the money for a summer home in Brazil and is already paying to ship a container and loves SA, why not ship a few cases to find out?
