okay, well I was wrong... tried to do them last night and got caught up in excel bullshit =p but our invoicing system is a little better now. Also, kinda screwed ourselves... not realizing next week was thanksgiving, so we've spent all day adjusting our malt/bottle/label orders and brewing schedule for next week... blech. Sorry again, everything always seems to take longer...

On to my 2nd and final CN, there better be some at Binnys HP tomorrow, liked it better this time, such a bitter beer for being a citra forward beer which seperates it form the others I think.

Does anybody have a lead on any places that still have some Citra Ninja in stock? Went to Armanetti's (Grand and Western) and Binny's Lincoln Park but were both sold out. Appreciate any help.

Yes - apparently FwB like me are now unable to purchase their bottles as a result. :slight_frown:

Does WLV not hold bottles back like Binny's does for FwB? I only stopped by because I was in the area...

Yeah, I made the switch because I like supporting WLV and it's closer to me coming from the burbs. I'm contemplating switching back to Castle Vav because they actually hold the bottles and check the list.

I know the same thing happened with the initial release of Abduction as well.

I'm not really sure what's going on. I was there on the evening of the 12th and Citra Ninja wasn't in the system (i.e. available for purchase). When I looked yesterday it was already sold out. This happened with Abduction too, where they burned through the inventory before the week was up.

I'm only mildly annoyed as I'm sure Pipeworks will make Citra Ninja again, but I think WLV needs to be a bit more strict about holding back bottles of the more limited releases. I doubt I'm the only one who was shut out as a result, and I'm probably one of the most forgiving. It's better to err on the side of caution and have a few extra bottles after the initial week rather than piss off the FwB people by running out too soon.

I thought you were supposed to contact Pipeworks to have them switch your FwB to WLV. If you didn't, they're still being held for you at Castle Vav, where they DON'T check the list anymore. I think Castle Vav gets enough in that it will hardly be an issue. If you did officially make the switch, that bites. SL Binny's had some as recently as last night, though.

I saw maybe a case or more of Citra Ninja walk out the door to non FwB's at the Abraxas release on Friday.

I did switch, as I'm a regular customer at WLV while Binny's is a bit out of the way for me. I also know both stores are somewhat lax about checking the list as the majority of the bottles go uncollected during the initial week; there's no sense tying up inventory space, and not having the beers for open sale during the first week means losing sales to the stores that don't do the FwB program.

While I'm sure I'll end up with a bottle eventually, I'm more concerned about future limited releases (i.e. the barrel-aged stuff) and the possibility that there are disgruntled FwB members spreading negative PR about WLV and Pipeworks. Only ~10% of customers who are unhappy will actually be proactive and contact a store/company about a problem; the rest just post negative Yelp reviews and talk shit via word-of-mouth.
