Was session 1: favs were s’mores and cinnamon hazelnut... coconut was third. Pecan, where is the pecan?

None of the variants were great. Coconut was the biggest disappointment, it didn’t taste like there was any coconut in it.

I need to find out about the coconut myself. All the variants kicked right away in my session. If anyone has half they don't want and is still here, I'll pay 20.

Session 1 they poured Hazelnut instead of coconut at first. They did let you go back in if you still had a tab on your wristband. Then we got the real coconut. Totally different beer. Still not the same as 2018 Coconut Assassin, but pretty good. Not sure why it wasn't tapped correct to start with.

I really liked the coconut, but I suppose that's because I could taste next to no coconut.

Is there still a bottle share going on at the Super 8? Anyone planning on any particular time for it?

Going to dinner quick and then will start a share here at Super 8. I'm guessing others will start before that in the lobby.

    S'mores variant was fire.

We had two pours of 2018, one from the bottle pickup line, one from the taproom. Both smelt like farts.....tasted ok though. Almost like what happened to 2015 BCBS when it first started going bad.

    2019 version was excellent.

Of all the beers we had today at TG, Mornin Latte was probably my favorite (price considered).

S’mores, really? Was so sweet and didn’t come together at all. Really happy I didn’t spend $10 on a pour. I will agree on Mornin’ Latte though, that was solid.

Yes, it was executed perfectly then. Was sweet like s'mores and smelt like roasted marshmallows.

Out of the variants, Pecan was by far my favorite. Aroma, flavor... it all was done so well (for an adjunct stout). It may be partially because I expected that one to be my least favorite going in, but it way exceeded my expectations. Coconut was probably the most disappointing, and nowhere near as Coconut forward as during last year's Assassin release.

Overall, I still prefer straight up Assassin '19 over all of those. And having Assassin 19 and 18 one right after the other, I preferred the '19 more. A lot of barrel sweetness. Boozy with a sticky thick mouthfeel. Very happy with how '19 turned out.

S’mores had the most amazing aroma, the taste could never live up to the smell... and it didn’t. Still my fav variant of the day. The best beer I had all day was the mornin delight on draft at rubaiyat.

Felt like most of the variants had a nice nose/aroma of the adjuncts but the flavors were not really present or standing out in the beer. Hazelnut made my mouth super dry after every sip, had to drink water with it. Overall, agree with others that 19 on it’s own was preferred over the variants.

Pecan was my surprise favorite also, can’t say I really thought it tasted like pecans, but it was awesome

Unfortunately pecan didn’t make it to the last session. Our group thought that s’mores was the best along with 2018. 2019 was great as well, just more fruit notes and less barrel. The term oils were interesting- 18b was more like 2018 Assassin, just a lot heavier of an initial mouthful. 19a was like a muted 2019 Assassin. The coconut variant didn’t taste like coconut at all, not bad but where was the coconut? The hazelnut cinnamon tasted nutty but had a strange raw cinnamon finish. We didn’t bother with the mint.
