OK, I'm going to share, what I'm guessing, is a not so popular opinion in this thread.

Let me say I've had some pretty good beers over the last couple/few years at riip, but never better than that. My wife and I went yesterday and each got a DIPA and a BA stout(that looks like a Tustin brewing collab) and our bill was almost $45 with tip. I can drink world class beers a American Dream for cheaper than that. Their crowlers aren't really reasonable either. And we both could give nothing more than a shoulder shrug when asking each other how the beers were.

Except for the location and patio I can't imagine why anyone would go here over Beachwood in Huntington Beach for an IPA.

"Fantastic brewery on every level"? Not sure how anyone can say that if they've ever been to Beachwood, El Segundo, Bottle Logic(and their IPA's are weak), Brouwerij West etc...

Aren’t crowlers typically in the $11-$13 range at RIIP?

Didn't see specific prices, but just shy of $40, which is at least $9 per.

I haven't got them in awhile, but they can't be that cheap. When I got them they were close to the price per ounce of a pour. But may have gotten cheaper...

Well, just looked at my receipt I was emailed they charged me for a beer I didn't order! Not sure if that's better or not lol.

The prices for pours and crowlers fills have gone up at RiiP. It’s $6 or $6.5 for half pour and $8-9 for full pour. Depending on style of beer. Crowler fills are minimum $12. Not sure on top end fills. I wanna say $14-16? At BW down the street your looking at $7-7.5 for a full pour and $4-4.5 for half. Those prices are for most of BW’s hoppy beers on tap. Others might be around $8 (Blendery). Not sure what’s going on at RiiP. I been finding myself going to BWHB more these days because of the wide variety of cans to go. Even for crowlers to go ($10) or $13 for their DIPA’s and hazy’s. And you can’t go wrong with $13 for 4pks. I still stop in occasionally at RiiP. Ian is a fantastic brewer. After all he came from the BW family.

Keep in mind a "half" at Riip is 12oz whereas Beachwood is 10oz.

True. But I like my half pours at 8 or 10oz. 12oz is almost a full pour at other establishments. Maybe a lot of peeps don’t realize that half a pour at RiiPs is 12oz instead of the usual 8oz? Or maybe they should just advertise they have 12oz and 16oz pours? That’s what I’ve always liked about BT’s, there half is half of a full pour and the price is half of the regular price. But everyplaceis different. Don’t get me wrong here brothers, I like RiiP. Always will. Beachwood will always be near and dear to me. The others guys south of BWHB? The Four Boys? Don’t bother.

Always brother. Always. It’s nice to have a little haze in your life. But yes, west is the best. I saw a new terminology the other day....murky ipa! What the Fuuuuuk. I’ve had sh!te ipa’s before but never murky. :poop:

Ha they do advertise it as 12oz on the menu, but tbh no on reads the menu, they just look at the skateboards...

On a better note, I saw Black the Riiper return, if it was anywhere close to the award winning batch i'll be stocking up.

The epitome of a world class pale ale. 100% Citra, so much going on for the lower ABV's. 5.5%, Citradical needs to stay in rotation Ian !! The perfect summer crusher.

Definitely worth the drive from Newport Beach. No cans or bottles to go. Growlers and crowlers on most if not all on draft. If your driving PCH from Newport to RiiP (weekend) head over to Beachwood HB.

Pretty nice to be getting RIIP beers on tap at a few local NORCAL places now.

Cloud Crusher DIPA. Low bitterness, went down fast.
