Thanks. Been waiting for that one..... Parabola (2109) was just released last week. So maybe that will show (soon) along with Sucaba (Feb release).

Not that it’s a hunt to find 19 KBS, but a few bucks cheaper at Falls Liquor, currently $21.99 - 4 pack. Seems like something has changed there maybe? Significantly less bomber/limited release singles than in the past it seems.

Went to Surdyk’s today. Lots of Drekker options including Oops all berries, ectogasm, tickle monster, freak parade. Had a couple 4 packs of King Sue and plenty of WW Juicy Bits.

I see BA Darkness is hitting stores; anyone try this year's vintage? I thought last year's was very underwhelming, I'd like to hear some positive feedback on this year's before spending the $30 or whatever they'll be charging.

This year's spent WAY longer in barrel (rye whiskey) than any previous vintages and has a much more pronounced barrel-flavor. Heavy toasted coconut, vanilla, dark chocolate and oak. If you liked 2018 Darkness, you will really like 2019 BA Darkness. (If barrel-aged beers are your jam.)

That is exactly what I was hoping for, last year's had hardly any barrel or whiskey character.

I didn't really like 2018 Darkness, it was too sweet for me (sweetest vintage ever IMO). But, I do remember thinking to myself "this could be really good with some time in a barrel."

Yes, what if you didn't like 2018 Darkness because you found it too sweet? Are you likely to enjoy the barrel-aged version? That's a serious, not snarky, question.

I'm hoping that Surly tones down the sweetness and dials up the bitterness in Darkness in 2019. I know Surly is claiming there was no recipe change in 2018, but maybe a tweak or two is needed in recipe or process going forward to return this beer to glory.
