Trade Value Thread (2019)

I’ve seen bbt b2 trade/sell for 3.5-4VRU for the past month or two, maybe they’re mislabeling it? Either way it shot up like crazy and it killed my dreams of trying it again lol

 

I love BBT b2, but it's a bit insane how it's gone up in trade value recently. Some guy was offering KBBS b4 for a BBT b2 1:1, and it didn't close (I was chatting with him).

 

I agree, it's crazy how suddenly it went up! I'd rather have 3 Maman for the same value imo.

 

I am trying to trade for Maman 18 using a DB Fluffernutter as the anchor. Is 1:1+ (plus on Fluffernutter) close? Also, what level of plus do you think would be required?

 

Are 2019 J Wake DFPF and 2019 Hill BG+E fair at 1:1?

 

I think the DFPF should add a plus.

Member of both breweries and have drank both beers many times (Maman uncountable), and I would rather have BBT1 over any Maman. That said, BBT2 and BBT1 side by side, BBT2 was clearly better—not even a question. I can’t think of a beer that would make me trade a BBT2.

Because I guess it is relevant, these are just my own personal opinions.

 

As much as I think trade value of BBT b2 is ridiculous, I kind of agree with you. There's nothing enticing enough (to me) to trade it away.

 

Before the Summagick/Handjee/Voodoo wars of March and April 2019 started I posted about MD b5 for a 19 Assasin but that war consumed all in it's path. So if I anchored with MD b5 for a 19 Assassin, what would the plus on my end be? Would BCBS Reserve or Vanilla be in the vicinity? A few Deep Woods cans?

 

I think bigger issue than the MD b5 being an anchor is that both it and Assassin '19 are Toppling Goliath brews. In most scenarios I would think that if you have an Assassin, you've also already had MDb5. Just swapping out for an anchor of similar trade value as MDb5 may be more enticing to someone with an Assassin bottle.

As for what plus it would actually take with MD b5 to land Assassin '19... no idea. I think the relative trade value is still fluid. People will give you best/worst scenarios but I think it's too early still. Just throw out what you think you would take in return for an Assassin (if you had one yourself) and see if that's good enough.

 

Agreed with the above. Have had a few and not really blowing my mind. The scarcity is really the biggest drive

 

For those curious, I closed the Floodland trade. 4:1 with some haze on my end. Doesn't look like I got anything too crazy but the bottles intrigue me. Whether I love them or not I'll be happy to at least try several bottles and can then gauge if I trade for more. I'll post the closed trade next week. Thanks for the insight.

 

Anyone know what a trade for ER17 would look like or if it's even possible with something like this?

I've also got access to Side Project and have a decent cellar of BA Stouts.

 

I don't think it's possible at all with all those bottles.. Have seen '14 ER17 valued very closely 1:1 with 2018 Pappy 15. ER17 2018 is valued even higher than 2014 and '15-17 would be little lower than 2014 but still way out of range.

 

Thoughts on Assassin '19 for 4 "The" de Garde bottles? I know it depends on which ones so I'll throw out an example. If 4 is too much (have no idea) any thoughts on ratios?

Assassin '19 : The Purple Kriek (latest batch), The Orchard (latest batch), The Peach (Cognac) and The Purple (latest batch).

 

Anyone know the value on Vanilla Here be Monsters b2? Don’t see any of these move and wanted to package one with something else for some bigger wants.

 

The 4 bottles you listed would be a hard comparison as you have a significantly rarer bottle but they’re pretty far over on the $4$. Personally, I think a great trade would be Assassin for 3 “The” bottles with a few of the more sought after “The” bottles included. Stuff like Broken Truck, Blossom, Truffle, Nectarine Cuvée, Baies and Arbres, Floue Floue, Duo Spruce, Numbers, etc.
