Fair point on the appearance. It's been a few years since I've had Zombie Dust, so my memory of it might be a bit...hazy. ahem

Just gotta let you guys know, Sosus is actually that expensive, even from a wholesale angle. Pseudo and Golden nugget were priced to compete with staple 4pks like Wrench. Sosus was priced $5 more per 4pk than either one of those (so $30 more per case). I hope they reconsider those prices as well. It's quite a bit more than even I'm comfortable paying, especially because you can get stuff like Burlington DIPAs for $20+tax.

It's not on their beermenus, but Cable has cans of Sosus for $5 and change per can. The guy said the same thing about it being more expensive at the wholesale level.

They also have both bottles of the dry hopped Pseudo Sue for $11/bottle. Growler and Gill right up the road has them for $14/bottle.

My local has it for $5.29 a can. It looks like the Manhattan bottle shops are charging around $7 a can.

$5.29 a can is cool. Eff those shops charging $7 a can. $28 4 packs when we can get better beer at Other Half for $18 or $20.

Where's your local? The lowest price/can I saw on BeerMenus in the 5 boroughs was $6.35. Actually saw a couple of places charging $10 (Upright Brew House and Augurs Well)! Both bars, so on site consumption only I assume, but still.

I have tried a few of TG's IPAs and PAs, which are excellent, without being truly stand outs. These seem to be all that is available currently in NY. Frankly, you can get more interesting and fairly comparably priced IPAs and PAs from dozens of local producers throughout NY, NJ, and NE. Not to mention the real stand outs available here: Other Half, Mikkeller, Evil Twin, Sand City, Grimm, Kane, Carton, Captain Lawrence, IA, KCBC: I could go on and on. All of these are available to New Yorkers (and New Jerseyites) either 1) in the same beer venues as TG or 2) with a short trip to the brewery. If New Yorkers are given a crack at TG's incredibly highly ranked (and priced) stouts and are able to put them to the test, that would be welcome and interesting news. Otherwise, meh.

When fresh, Pseudo Sue and King Sue are true stand outs. I’d take fresh PS over any NY pale ale I’ve had.

Is King Sue really worth $6.50 a can? I’d definitely like to try it but that’s pretty steep for a DIPA. I was getting Grimm for $5 or $6 a can before they opened their brewery.

No it's not. The appeal is that it's a good, reasonably priced DIPA. I wouldn't pay more than $5.

Definitely not! At a reasonable price if I ran into King Sue would buy it but our locals are awesome, screw those crooks with ludicrous pricing. Toppling Goliath should care about the overpriced beers, they will start to gather dust.

I was at Whole Foods in Williamsburg yesterday and they had a Golden Nugget (I think?) that was nearly 3 months old already. Dust be accumulating already.

Well at haymaker the pint can (best buy in July, which is pretty good compared to the NJ horror stories of Feb 2019) was $8. Compared to the drafts it was cheap (Absurd by Root and branch, a delicious beer, was $10 for 12oz). At that price I like it. In stores? I'll take Wrench at 15.00 though

Of course you should go with a cheaper beer that you also enjoy more if it's just as easy to pick up, but this reminds me of picking your execution method. The gun might be a better death than the knife but you're still getting killed.:slight_smile:

Tried it at Augurs Well yesterday and thought it was great. It was the best beer I had there.
