I’ve been asking myself the same question for the last year. Why can TG not make a consistent IPA? Fire, skulls, $ inconsistent. PS cans a crap shoot at best. But…I just opened a DDH Galaxy Bomber and it is amazing! Please TG, brew a consistent IPA!

 

Anyone notice that TG has taken off the canned on date from the 4 pack box? Now they are only putting the best buy date. My friendly beverage salesperson thought it was curious too, so he opened a box. Can still has packaged on and best buy. That said, fresh drop of King Sue down here. I passed this go around.

 

What’s the time differential? 60 days? 90?

 

It’s actually 1 day before the packaging date, with a note to “send all feedback to [email protected]”

 

The date on the box is 7/26/19, so my guess is 120 days.

 

We opened a Dorothy's, which had a Sept BB date and was packaged 4/2/19. So looks like 5 months on that one.

 

Hopefully the latest drop of King Sue is the same batch as the one I picked up in Decorah last Saturday: canned 03/28/2019.

 

I forgot the part where Dorothy's had a Sept 2019 BB date on the box. Just so that I'm actually making some sense here.

Solid? The previous batch didn't wow me. I actually liked the current batch of Sosus better than the past KS batch. Maybe it was a late Feb canning.

 

I go back & forth on whether I like Sosus or King Sue more when both are at their peak. This batch of King Sue is solid. Its not overly sweet which can be off putting to me. Got some nice bitterness at the end.

So that confirms the best by date is 120 days after.

 

Yeah, I've always preferred Sosus, honestly. Mosaic is a more complex hop for my palate. King Sue just tastes like a blend of orange and grapefruit juice, and it doesn't do that much for me. It's still a great beer and a great showcase of Citra, but I'll take Sosus every time.
