I have a few afternoons and evenings to fill this week. Any must-visit breweries? Resident Culture and Salud are already on the list.

    Thanks!

Heist’s new taproom in Northend. Soooooo much better atmosphere than the brewpub (unless you are starving and need a full meal).

The new locale is beautiful, relaxed, massive outdoor space and super fast service.

My brewery tiers ranked as to where I like to grab a beer at. Tap room atmosphere is included in this ranking along with beers.

-Resident Culture, Wooden Robot, Heist (Barrel Arts location)
    -Noda, Divine
-Olde Meck, Birdsong, Triple C, 4001 Yancy, Salud, Legion
    -Catawba, Town, Free Range
-Suffolk, Sycamore, Unknown, Sugar Creek, Lenny Boy
    -The rest

One note on this: If you are 20-something and looking to take in the "scenery" on a nice day, don't skip Sycamore. :-)

Heading up to Charlotte next week for a concert. Been to heist brewpub and resident culture before but planning on hitting up heist barrel arts and resident culture again. However I want to eat and the brewpub is close to the fillmore so might go there too lol. Anyways question is, both heist and resident culture are releasing cans today/tomorrow, will they last til next weekend?

Heist: Probably. They typically produce decent size batches

Resident Culture: Most likely. They have smaller batches but higher price point so people don’t typically hoard. But not likely to last more than 10-14 days for the hazies.

I couldn't find a "general" Charlotte thread, so figured I'd just reply to this one instead of starting a new one.

I'm a big fan of Heist. Love the location in Noda and the beers. Has anyone here been to their second location (the Barrel Arts one)?

If so, is this worth a trip out there to check out by itself? It's kind of not near anything else, and we've be taking Uber/Lyft around, so destinations within walking distance to each other are always a big plus. However, if the place is really a must see (i.e., they are serving all sorts of unique high gravity barrel aged delicious stuff that I can't find at their other location), I'd be happy to head out there.

    What do you guys think?

If you like a brewery feel vs a crowded restaurant, the Barrel Arts space is the place to be. Since it has opened, I haven't set foot in the Noda location. The new space is perfect brewery hangout and now one of my favorite spots. It really isn't that far from other the places (its 2 miles so maybe $5-6 uber). Their tap lists are on Untappd so check it out. Personally I don't like the brewpub on Noda at all. Too loud, too crowded, no place to relax in a CLT summer. BarrelArts is the polar opposite of the brewpub.

As a side note: make sure to check out the new Wooden Robot location in Noda as well. Just opened a few weeks ago and really well done space.

I was in The Chamber (Wooden Robot) this past Friday while visiting Charlotte. Really nice space and a really sweet rooftop bar. They had a beer on tap, Ready Grisette Go which I thought was excellent. Categorized as a wheat beer, but I couldn't figure out why. Nothing like one. Fofty Cent was really tasty too. The bad one for me was Generously Hopped V23...I thought it was pretty terrible.

Ended up going to Pour in Plaza Midwood for the first time. Was able to try a few different variants to the Prairie "Bomb" and a few different Mikeller IPAs. All were good. I thought their stout selection was better than their IPA/Belgian stuff.

For those not familiar, it's a bar with no bartenders. They have about 70 taps and you get a card (link to your credit card) that you scan each time before you pour your own beer.

What are my best brewery options relatively near the airport. I will be flying in and out of CLT with Clemson as the main point of the trip to visit my daughter. I will have some time on a Sunday evening to explore but prefer to find some place not too far from the airport so I don't have to deal with driving into the heart of the city on the way back from Clemson. Thanks!

In the Loso neighborhood (ask a local, they'll tell you how much they hate the name) there's Olde Mecklenburg, Sugar Creek and Southern Tier/Victory/Sixpoint all about 10 minutes away, with Good Road Cidery and Great Wagon Road distillery on the same block. Tons of variety. If IPAs are your thing, this isn't the block though....head a little further into South End and hit Triple C.

Lower Left Brewery is also opening in the same block next week and they look to have two NEIPA's on tap for the opening.

For Heist can releases, are they available at both the Brewpub and Barrel Arts locations? Or only one to start with?

Typically always at Barrel Arts (that is where everything is brewed) but I can't remember where it wasn't at both locations. Unless you really really want food, hit up Barrel Arts location. So much nicer IMHO.

Anyone know where my best bet is to find several OMB on tap at the airport? Preferably terminal B or D. Many thanks!
