I agree and I think the design is not too far off either, it's just the overwhelming white/light colors to me. If the cans were majority black instead of white and had the same design, it'd feel more "beer-ish" to me.

Weird that they aren't doing Clark or Marcey Binny's. I guess they may not have enough product, but selfishly those are the closest for me.

They probably know we all run to the Binny's on Grand during the day, anyway.

(but I do agree that skipping Clark and LP is pretty weird, especially given that LP is the flagship)

Maybe they figure that hitting all those independent shops on the northside is enough beer for that area. I tend to think some of these breweries prefer to get it in the hands of the independent shops as opposed to Binny's. It seems like Hop Butcher gives bigger allocations to some of the independent shops than they do for some of the Binny's.

That's a good theory, because it definitely seems like a lot of people in those areas do go to the smaller shops (I know I do when I'm not at work).

On another note, it's kind of funny that the first of Shaun's beers I'll ever have won't be RAM or More, it'll probably be Phase Three (clearly what the name is in reference to).

Regarding the look of the cans they are not that far off from how the Modern Times flagship cans look? So it doesn't seem that bad to me? I also like the little iconography above each beer name. But what do I know, I gravitate towards minimal designs, and think I was one of the few people that thought the Hubbard's Cave labels/cans look amazing.

Chicago Beer-Snobbery is at an all time high when our primary concern is a gripe with the Can design

We all know the can design is permanent and can never be changed. No brewery has ever changed their bottle or can design. Ever.

Well it doesn't taste like beer, so that's alright.

And people haven't even tried the beer yet. Look forward to all the hot takes coming soon...

as I've said before, if "bad" can art keeps people from grabbing beers I want to drink, I'm on board.

Nah, MT cans look far better to me. Hubbard's are okay, and I do like their cleanliness.

For the record, guys, I wasn't taking it that seriously. It was just a passing comment that the can design isn't that great, in my opinion. This would hardly be the first time on this site (or even in this thread -- see the first couple pages) that we've commented on something other than the liquid. I'm hardly being snobby, just expressing a really mild opinion about something that is basically immaterial. This site is built almost entirely on discussion, and I was merely commenting on one of the little pieces of info we have about these beers.

I don't think anyone is saying they won't buy the beer because of the can design, we're just saying we don't particularly like it. I've definitely bought beers before because of great artwork.

Re: Can Design .... Based on the podcast he was on, his wife is a graphic artist and did the logo. I bet she did the can design too. I imagine the focus now is on quickly getting things rolling on their new business/distro/keeping costs down. Guy has definitely earned the respect where he doesn't need a marketing gimmick.

The More can design was pretty clean as well.

Basically the biggest reason I kept buying Arcade’s beer. Though some of their beer was decent.

I seem to recall it taking a while at More for StB to get his beers back up to his RAM quality. Are these going to be great out the gate?
