Get ready for disappointment lol. They have created a solid brand that sticks out for itself and Brewery X is just the new neighbor.

I have not paid super close attention lately but, aren't they already working on an expansion that hasn't happened yet because of the city? Thought the tasting room was supposed to move next door or something?

I drove by last week and there were a bunch of construction workers out front. I drove by today and are several mountains of dirty piled up out front, so, something is starting to happen.

Looks like they’re in soft opening mode right now, according to OC Beer Blog’s insta story.

Public soft open starting today at 4:00pm and running through the weekend according to Bx's IG, although they had an industry soft open last night.

I was just going to ask if these guys are open yet. I saw that they will be pouring at the Cal Beer Summit coming up next month.

    I’m guessing beer.... :grinning:

Actually I was told they’ve got several pretty solid beers so far, nothing barrel aged as of yet. Doesn’t look like they have an Untappd yet, but a couple of random check-ins put a couple of well liked IPAs.

If memory serves correct, there was 2 west coast ipas and a pale?, 3 different flavored seltzers, a amber/red? And like 3 other easier drinking beers. Can’t remember exactly. IPA was solid.

Owner was talking to coworkers and I, guess they’re going for a “packing house on steroids” so the venue isn’t ALL theirs but its a big location.

A buddy went and he said the tap room is actually really small, but they do have a good sized patio. Beer was ok nothing special or really “hazy” and the stout was pretty sub par. Seems like they have seltzers too. He said for all the planning and hype was a bit of a disappointment.

I'll probably check it out tomorrow.

Another "meh" brewery in OC then.

Very much a "meh", forgettable brewery. Hopefully they evolve and mature with some time.

Not sure why most people expect a new brewery’s soft or grand opening to be high expectations? My most recent visits to Trademark and Gamecraft I didn’t expect it to be huge spot on beers when they first open their doors. Their beers weren’t terrible. I’ll tell you what was bad was when Beach City had their grand opening. OMG. Sorry Derrick. They did get better. Not great. Just better than bad. I gave the 4 Boys & Dad a couple of visits before I gave up. Another one I stopped in 4 times before giving them the finger was Barley Fart. What about Timeless Pint? Nope. We all know our taste buds and feel comfortable with. So maybe we kinda compare the new brewery’s to what we hope to expect out of them. Didn’t the brewers from Brewery X marks the spot and Gamecraft come from RiiP before all the drama?

New breweries also take a hit when they don’t only have trendy styles like stouts, hazy IPA’s, sours on tap. I actually prefer to see a brewery able to nail the basics before diving head first into really complex beers.
