Given the recent hot streak if they put out GB right now it should be excellent.

Congrats to Hop Butcher for taking home the 2019 Readers’ Choice Chicago Brewery title in this year’s bracket challenge. After nearly 170k votes were cast, the Darien, IL brewery beat out 63 other beer makers to take the crown. Now go follow a truck to hopefully grab some HBFTW to celebrate!

    Fixed that.

Beer Cellar received it today and had about 10 cases of Cosmic Fountain and only two or less of Your Wish is Granted.

Woa! Not so fast. Rumor has it they failed their post game performance enhancing drug test or maybe it was discovered they were juicing.... with lactose.

It feels kind of weird pouring a HB can and being able to see through the liquid while it pours.

I thought the bracket was only for lactose gypsy brewers with non recyclable cans?

I mean, it's still on the hazy end of the spectrum, it just doesn't look like chicken broth in a glass.

YWIG is very good. Possibly as good as the April ‘18 batch was, which was my favorite HB beer of all time.

At fridge temp I think the Nelson shows a little more, and as it warms the Galaxy really pops.

I pray enough hop butcher fans still appreciate traditional ipa that isn’t sweet and full bodied. Hopefully this either reminds or introduces people to a great style of beer.

Kind of like saying 40 years ago that plastic isn't a problem because very few people are dumping it in the ocean at that time or crack cocaine is not addictive when used in moderation.... It's just silly that they don't use paper labels. I will be referring to them as Environment Butcher for the World going forth....

Great article. Thanks for posting. I've got about a dozen or so of the shrink wrapped cans I plan on cracking this week and will make it a practice to remove the wrapping before tossing into my over populated recyclable bin.

At which point 75% -91% of those plastic labels will wind up in a landfill rather than get recycled even though you are putting them in a recycling bin.

Whether the label gets recycled is much less important than whether the aluminum gets recycled. The label wasn't going to get recycled anyway, the article says it just gets burned away. Aluminum recycling is the most important recycling there is, and it isn't close. Raw aluminum takes an absurd amount of energy to produce, and the process is horrible for the environment.

It's almost like good beer existed before NE IPAs did...
