Not quite. Might be time to read up on the effects of plastic in the environment and what % of plastic actually gets recycled. Until they have a floating patch of aluminum 3 times the size of France floating in the ocean and pictures of dead whales with 46lbs of aluminum in their bellies I would disagree.

I'm not saying plastic recycling isn't important, but a lot of plastic isn't recyclable, and a lot of products can't be made from recycled plastic. Also, producing new plastic is cheap and easy. The garbage patch is more an issue of proper disposal, rather than recycling vs. not recycling.

Primary aluminum production takes up something like 5% of the world's electricity supply, and in Australia, it's over 10%. And I'm not even sure if that figure takes into account the energy required in extracting and hauling the millions of tons of aluminum ore. Then there's the fact that bauxite refining creates lakes of caustic chemicals that there's no good way to dispose of (google "red mud"). Recycling aluminum saves tremendous amounts of energy and avoids these environmental issues, and every piece of aluminum is 100% recyclable. That's why it's important.

I apologize to all for turning this into a recycling thread, that wasn't my intent.
How much lactose is in cosmic?

Damn it. Cosmic is really damn good. If they dialed back the sweetness, it would be upper echelon for me. The nose is superb (it’s strawberry, grapefruit shortcake). They are starting to convert me.

I was ripping the plastic wrapping off cans of CF last night. We are now EarthAdvocate

If anyone is super concerned about their environmental footprint to the point where they can no longer drink their HB, please send to me. I will dispose of the liquid in my environmentally friendly tummy, the lining of which should be guaranteed for another 40 years at least. Also, we'll make sure to peel the plastic off your cans prior to recycling. Mother Earth thanks you for your commitment to making the world a better place for future generations.

I just opened an As You Wish and apparently I like it more than most of Untappd. I love a fresh west coast IPA especially with these hops we associate more with haze. Sequencing will be key for this beer. I can imagine it’s disappointing after a hazy beer but it drinks great as an opener. The Nelson really jumps out in particular

Is it known that they put lactose in their hazy beers or something?

Just went back a few pages and now I’m educated on the lactose claims. That is interesting because my wife said just the other day “those Hop Butcher beers just seem creamier”.

Whether it's lactose or not, I just wish their beers weren't quite as sweet. Cosmic would be a homerun for me if it just had a bit more of the hop bite. It's nose and texture is almost perfect, but the slight sweetness to the finish knocks it down a few notches for me. YMMV.

Couldn’t agree more and I feel that way about pretty much.every one of their beers.

Cosmic Fountain is near the very top of HB beers to me. It’s like an even better version of The Jewels. So impressed and I’ll have to ration out the remaining 3 cans

Drinking a Wintry Mix, because... [looks outside]... oh man, this beer is even better now. Smooth cocoa and sticky toffee, full body, sipping pretty.

    Cheers! :beers:

So interesting. I thought it was fairly boring honestly after the last two (Wave Burst and Loophole Technicality); it's still very good, but it tastes like Green Moss and their other Citra beers to me, plus it is a little too sweet.

I actually prefer Your Wish is Granted to Cosmic, though Nelson is my favorite hop, so I'm biased there. The non-haze of it was a really nice break, and they just make that Nelson pop in this beer.

If one beer is going to be Swans of Lir green, it's got to be this one, right?

Gotta hawk them shirts on the website somehow!
I suspect there will be another one dropping also since this is getting canned today. Right?
